Question Wind told me my phone isn't supposed to work with wind

I posted about my mms problems before which was solved. But i remembered that the wind customer service told me that my phone (Samsung T959 from T-mobile) shouldn't work with wind frequency. ?????? Why would two different people from wind customer say that? been using my phone since OCT 10. Are they misinformed or just trying to make me buy wind phones?

Im with wind since nov of 2010 and now just using the data stick portion(before the holiday miracle plan). The more you deal with them the more you realize their employees have no clue what's going on. They hire people who make 11/h and dont seem to care much. Sometimes they say anything to get you out the door. Had a phone which didnt work and was returned it 2nd day in. Told there's no refunds and only exchanges lol.

... I can understand the "i-don't-really-care" part... but this was over the web, Support in "MY ACCOUNT"...
he sent me a website:http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_vibrant-3416.php and compared it with the frequencies... they both did, lol , and they said its not compatible.

Is it really THAT bad that they have to just lie a little to get you out of their hair? lol

It's pretty much the same across all cell phone companies.

90%+ of reps aren't trained to know whether or not your XYZ phone from ABC Carrier will work with them or not, and tbh, I don't blame them, because it's not in their job description.

If they claim it won't work, it's probably because they don't go on Hofo and know any better. If you're bringing an unlocked device, the onus is on you to know if it works or not. Beyond that, ignore their misinformation.

T959 works with Telus/Rogers/Bell and Wind/mobi. you just have to root and unlock it. Captivate works only on Rogers etc. I have 4 of them.

Sort of works, as it only utilizes 1900 Mhz and is missing the 850Mhz.

I don't know why even a thread on this issue.

Do you really think that a CSR should know if your non wind phone works on there network, another poster on here said it really well, its up to you to know if your phone is compatabile on a network you want to use it on.
