ok i was going to send my phone again to have the housing changed to the red color, but i decided to take the chance and the risk and do it my selfand it was successful.
tools i used: picture frame hanger. T6 Screw driver and a pair of tweezers.

and then you insert the picture hanger nicely on the bottom part of the antenna cover to the left side (next to the camera lens) and do go deep and push the antenna cover towards the top and with the help of your fingers pressure slide the cover.

![]()
take the cover off and put it on the side.
![]()
unsnap the antenna cover towards the top.and remove it with the pair of tweezers.
![]()
![]()
remove the bower button key.
![]()
unscrew the 4 screws using T6 crewdriver.
![]()
with your finger or with a help of a credit card (thanks C-DUB) unsnap the top cover.
![]()
and put it away.
![]()
and simply replace it with the other cover (color of your choice).
![]()
now screw back the 4 screws.
![]()
reinstal the antenna and make sure you put it back in the right place and is not moving around.
![]()
remember to put back the power button key in place.
![]()
slide back the antenna cover like you do when sliding the battery cover and make sure it click on the right place.
![]()
place the battery back in the phone and put the cover back.
![]()
power on your phone.
![]()
mission completed.

very sweet XP, helpful as usual! (did you not get the photos from the ebay auction? I didn't, however he emailed them to me)
good to see that I don't have to change the middle part. I was confused as to why I had that anyway. Would have drove me insane if I had to.
WOW! Very nice. Thanks for that.
I have a aluminum haze housing sitting here waiting to be put on my T616 to replace the damage I did to it when I removed the Cingular logo.
I don't know when I'm going to get around to it but when I do, I have a guide at least!
Now I've seen good pics of the Red and Blue T610/616 and I have to say, I still prefer the Aluminum look. The only color I might go far eventually is blue.
Still, to each his/her own...good job!

Hmm, now I am thinking I may want the blue one. Have to wait though . . . I just sent my T616 back to Adam @ LVWireless to have the latest firmware installed.
XP,
Picture frame hanger.. very nice. Everything that you did is very close to the official procedure on replacing the faceplate. Nice pictures, although I would block out your IMEI number for security reasons.
Great Job!
* Is your antenna cover a little loose now?
Cheers!
thank you virtualdynamix and all the other hofo members for the great compliments, and i know there is other tools to use beside the picture hanger but this is the only think i found around the house that wont cause any damage to the cover.Originally posted by virtualdynamix

BTW, if you reinstal the cover the same way you instal the battery cover it wont be loose, and mine it's not losse what so ever.![]()

On a brand new phone, the antenna cover does not move at all. Almost like it's one complete piece with the back of the phone. After removing and replacing the antenna cover, there is a slight movement if you push up/down on it. If yours does not have this movement, SE should refine the opening tool by using a picture hanger.
Again, excellent work XP!
XP thanks for the help. I thought I was going to be screwed with mine. I bought the blue one. Following your directions was simple besides the antenna cover. That piece would not come off. I ruined the the first one, good thing I had another one.
is there by any chance of a clearer description on how to remove the antena cover ??? i cant seem to be able to get it out ..
Love all serve all
Orang I thought I was in the same boat as you but you need to give it a little shove. That part took me about 10 min to remove because I was afraid of hitting the antenna. I used a tiny screwdriver that fit the perfect width of that little spot next to the camera. While pushing up I gave a little force going down to by any clips that were holding it. I hope this helps.
