Finally, my phone became the regular android phone. All the Google application (market, maps, etc.) is now include within this phone.

This may not be the best andriod phone, but I'm sure that this is the best smart folding phone available in market right now.

This is a guide to do it....

How did you theme the notification bar differently though? I wish I could read Chinese to see if there are any custom ROMS for this phone.

i'm not sure that 007sh is an android base, if it is. it should be able to do so.

The instruction from the link is what i did.

i'll try to make it simple
    - first you need to root your phone
    - then use the file explorer app that allow you to change the permission of the files
    - load Google app to directory of system/app (in your phone)
    - change the permission to rw-r-r
    - restart...

It is similar to how to modify the status bar is other android phone (which you can search from google or XDA forum), but the tricky part is instead of modify the frame-res.apk. you do the modification on dianxinos-res.apk.

PS i can't read chinese neither, you can try google translate. it may not be 100% accurate but it will help.

    007SH runs Android 2.3.

btw, was asking for directions on how to install gapps on the 7218/7228 (no need now, ahhdillon already posted the link). The 007SH comes with the entire GApps suite preinstalled.

Heya, I've been stalking this website for the past few months and well, I finally got to this thread which makes me happy as hell but I have a little problem which is why I'm finally posting!

Now my only problem is, even though I googled translated the instruction page, I still don't really get it.. Maybe I'm just being a moron but I can't even understand the first bit with the z4?! Permanent or Temporary Root? And then what...?

I don't particularly want to get stuck on the screen with the lil' Android dude and then crying my eyes out, so any one nice enough to type the instructions (where to download the .apk files in the first place or whatever it is?!) step by step in more details to help a silly girl like me would be very much appreciated!

All I want is to convert my beautiful beautiful SH7218U into a normal Android phone so I can use it like I could on any other Androids normally here in the UK! ;[

Hey there, it's really easy tbh. Make sure you have a file manager installed on your phone, I recommend "root manager", just download it from somewhere on the net..

So I'm guessing you havn't rooted? Just get the z4root app installed on your phone and click permanent root, if I remember correctly it actually dsn't reboot your device once you root it, so just reboot it afterward and you should see an app called "superuser" appear with all your other applications.

If you have done everything correctly then you can go ahead and delete z4root since you won't be needing it anymore. The download link is at the bottom of the blog post, look at it without google translate and you can see a blue click-able link that says "download here", I can't remember if z4root is included within the package but you can easily download it elsewhere. Also, sometimes pictures are omitted with translate so do not translate the page, you really don't need to read anything on it.

After downloading the necessary apk files, make sure you have that file manager that can change permissions for a file on your phone. Now all you have to do now is get the files you downloaded and put them in a folder on your sdcard, use root manager to MOVE the files to the system/app portion of the phone, now once the files are moved into the same folder as all the other applications within your phone, hold down on the apk files you just moved and a list of options will appear, click permissions and check the boxes literally like the picture in the link after the z4root screens on the blog post, just look for a picture with some boxes that are check marked, can't miss em.

After doing that to every file that was moved to your phone (JUST THE GOOGLE APPS) reboot your phone and you'll be prompted to setup your google account. I was in a hurry writing this, so need any more questions? Just pm me.

Heeey! Thank you so so much for explaining everything for me!

I do have one final question (for now! ;P), is it best to do this on a Windows computer or does it not really matter? Because I only have Macs all around the house and well, if Windows is better to root the phone with, then I'll have to break into my friend's house for a while when I have a day off work! ;D

Thanks again! <3 Hopefully when I do get around to it, I won't face any problems! ;[
