I'm going to submit a ticket on the ST Facebook page and question them about the unlimited data and see if I can extract anything useful.
Please post if you have experiences with ST warning you about your data usage or cutting you off. Thanks
Heres an experience from a user in early 2011 with ST claiming a 5GB limit:

And another:

Ok, well, the first time I asked, a bunch of users replied to the comment on their wall, which was completely useless. The second time I asked for a direct answer from ST, the wall post was deleted.
Its 5gb i have the usa rep state it on a recording. Call these lies out on their facebook page and keep at it. If they delete ask why are they deleting

Yeah I was told 5gb too. I've been using probably under 2gb a month though. My advice is to just not use massive amounts of data in a short time. That sets of red flags in there system.

May be this tread should be "sticky" because many ppl are asking about the Data limit and consequences of overuse.
1. Don't tether. AT&T has tethering detection of one form or another and there's no reason they can't pass the same information about who's been naughty on to America Movil.
2. Don't stream Pandora/Spotify/etc. and especially Netflix. YouTube once in awhile is probably okay.
3. Don't use 3G Unrestrictor or other apps that override WiFi-only requirements.
4. Don't excessively use video chatting/webcasting services (Fring, Qik, etc.) over 3G.
And finally, always remember to turn your WiFi on whenever possible. If you follow these pointers, you'll be very unlikely to go over the limit, whatever it happens to be. It's a cheap ride, not a free ride.![]()
I still tether, but only for short periods of time and never more than 40MB of tethering a day.
Be careful tethering on iPhone's however, I think they send some sort of a signal or something. I'm running Cyanogenmod on my Inspire which has no tethering restrictions or sends any indication of tethering.
I have decided for myself that 2GB a month and 100MB a day limit is safe. With that said, I have fairly minimal usage and rely more on wifi:

I advice to use mobile/wap pages with your browser while tether. They opens faster and no ads.
