Not only is this wrong, it's not even wrong. First Google hit on "st at&t apn" is http://www.straighttalksim.com/support.php which has a link to the AT&T and T-Mobil settings.

Finding the information was faster than typing the part of the rant I quoted.

silentjudge, in my opinion, you did nothing wrong. I haven't been a forum member here for long, but due to users like you, I was able to learn a tremendous amount in a very short period of time. Enough so that I actually felt comfortable beginning to post responses recently in an attempt to help others by sharing what I've learned. However, it seems that the number of people joining as new members recently just to ask the same questions that been asked and answered so many times has accelerated, which has started to frustrate me. I too have been tempted to respond the way you did, which I personally think was done in a respectful manner, and was entirely appropriate. It's like no one wants to take even a few minutes to run a search on the site, or read through older posts even if they do find the right thread. I have, and continue to, read and learn on many other internet sites besides this one, and the way posts go on HoFo is really no different, other than the opposite of what was said above. Here, there is much less sniping and personal attacking of other users, and the percentage of useful posts is very high. So I want to say a sincere thank you for all the helpful info that you and all the other knowledgeable, helpful HoFo forum members have shared here for years. Please don't let experiences like this deter you from continuing to help members like me whom you have helped so much.

How hard was it to find the Straight Talk APNs? *Shrugs* Google search DOES indeed give you the APNs, hell when I purchased my sim card there was a small booklet with the APNs inside... English and Spanish..

How does a basement get mad? Lol. Dude get a grip. This thread was created to post valuable information about straight talks data limits and those that have gotten the ban hammer for over usage. Now you've gotten the ban hammer for getting your panties in a bunch over a question that has been asked several times even in the very thread you're posting in. This site runs a tight ship and many like it that way. Keeps posts relevant and keeps the riff raff out.

    SJ,

You're right to be angry about silly questions, but wrong to express it the way you did. If you want to help people, then answer their questions. If you don't, then don't.

But, what you did was akin to helping someone who fell because he wasn't looking to get back up and then punching him in the side of the head for being so stupid in the first place. Why bother?

I wasn't being angry, I assure you. I said to search and linked him/her to the necessary and useful threads. Was I harsh to the person, yes a bit. But I didn't insult them by linking to lmgtfy or just the search page on hofo.

Here's the thing, I have no problems with noobs asking questions and all that, but if don't even bother to search before asking something, then they are just lazy and deserve a reminder.

I remind them by not dignifying their question with a response.

I respect your view however I disagree. Someone has to step in and remind them that they should indeed search before asking questions. I'm not talking about being off topic, most times I don't care about that.
