No iPhone 5 for Tmo this year! Think they finally pushed my loyalty too far...

    http://www.tmonews.com/2011/09/did-t...enta-this-year

I have been with Tmo since 2000, very loyal have a great plan, been happy with my service and customer service. Currently use an unlocked iPhone 3GS on Tmo. But when AT&T, Verizon, and NOW Sprint are getting the iPhone 5. This is a nightmare for me, I mean I truly am disheartened.

Not really surprising. T-Mobile is in a state of limbo with AT&T's acquisition looming and I do not see why Apple would insert itself into the mess by developing an iPhone to work with T-Mobile's unique bands. After AT&T completes the merger (yes it will happen), T-Mobile will cease to exist and remaining customers will be with AT&T and able to get the iPhone.

Even if the unthinkable happens and AT&T does not complete the merger, they did succeed in causing enough FUDD over T-Mobile's future that they are and will be damaged goods.

It's still possible that the iPhone will be offered with AWS in an unlocked version. That would be great for me because I could use it on t-zones.

This has more to do with ATT I think than with Apple. The last thing ATT wants is another GSM carrier having the iPhone to operate at speeds that they currently offer. Obvioulsy REV. A is a step down on Sprint and Verizon.

No, it has to do with T-Mobile. Apple will take anyone's money including DT. DT doesn't want to pay Apple the kind of money the 3 are paying. Especially since they're selling the company. To them, it's just a waste of money to pay Apple.

The iPhone will be the carrot AT&T uses to lure legacy T-Mobile users off their plans and onto more expensive, overage data plans.

With? Check T-Mobile's lineup. T-Mobile is with none of those devices.

My 70 year old dad uses an unlocked iP4 on T-Mobile USA. He's a total music enthusiast with thousands of tracks on iTunes and he uses his iPhone more as an iPod than anything else. Just occasional calls to my mom.

He made me laugh. The other day out of the blue at a doctors appointment he was using the Safari web browser (for God knows what) and he scolded me about how the "damn phone's internet is soooo slow."

My point: Even my old man notices that EDGE sucks when trying to do anything quick and useful on a data centric phone (other than email). I wanted to get him and my mom new HSPA capable iP5's on T-Mobile for their anniversary in November assuming they were going to get them soon. When I saw that report earlier today I too was bummed. I already sold them on the iOS concept and they were looking forward to getting them.

But if we become AT&T customers soon enough I guess we'll just have to get them iP5's from them. Thankfully I have a 24% discount with AT&T so it helps with the MRC's if we have to change our rate plans. I know not everyone is so lucky so I feel for you.

I'm still holding out for hope that T-Mobile publicly deny's that report and surprises us otherwise in October but I doubt it.

This might not work in your situation, but I feel it's highly likely that the iPhone will have AWS. The chipset in the Verizon version, Qualcomm MDM6600 already has HSPA+ and AWS.

In my case, it may work out better if T-Mobile doesn't carry the iPhone5 with AWS as it will be more likely I can use it on my legacy data plan.

Furthermore Apple already sells an unlocked version of the iPhone on their website. They're smart enough to know they could greatly increase sales of that product by adding AWS.

If T-Mobile doesn't carry it, I believe that it's because T-Mobile is too cheap to pay Apple what AT&T, Verizon and presumably Sprint will pay.

If anything we are getting an iPhone 4 variant and not the 5, IF.. the BGR photos were correct.

Also instead of Safari, Opera Mini does wonders over EDGE.

I hope he was just saying that, just to keep quiet. If he were to say yes, then the media would go crazy.

I hope AT&T gets blocked from buying T-Mobile. The name AT&T is a joke. I hope someone can check the iPhone 5's hardware to see if it has the AWS chip, and can software unlock it. Or better yet, have Apple sell the iPhone 5 unlocked with AWS.

T-Mobile's CTO said no iPhone 5 but he didn't say no iPhone 4s right?
