I have here my old 740SC that i bought in Japan. The japanese Softbank simcard doesnt work here in germany so i thought about unlocking.
First of all i want to safe my messages, but i dont know if there is a way. If there is one I think i need a USB Cable, right?
Played a bit around but i cant sent my messages over infrared.
If i unlock it, all my settings an datas are gone, right?
To unlock it, do I need only a USB cable or a Z3X Box as well?
And anyone knows where i can get a USB cable?

1)you can find a USB cable with zero, ask him
2)there is a software for the phone I think, check Samsung Japan website
3)most likely you are going to have to ship the phone to Hong Kong so they can unlock it for you , again ask zero.
4)you can't unlock it with that box unless you know how to boot the phone in recovery and can modify memory partitions or system files. SOFTBANK Os is proprietary unlike moap-l or s from docomo that are based on a public os but is not open for development.
