Unlimited data on a verizon prepaid mvno... I doubt it. Verizon protects their postpaid and they do not offer that on there.

Looks like no more 30-day unlimited talk/text plan.

    15 day Unlimited talk/text - $25
Unlimited Nationwide Talk, Text, and Up to 3G Web - $40
Unlimited Nationwide Talk, Text & High Speed Web - $60
BlackBerry Unlimited with Web - $50
BlackBerry Unlimited with High Speed Web - $60
750 MB of on-the-go wireless broadband internet access - $25
2 GB of on-the-go wireless broadband internet access - $45

The $40 plan should be labelled unlimited talk/text/messaging/1 gig with a 2g throttle plan but whatever.

When the prepaid divisons like Virgin /Boost Mobile, Verizon prepaid offer data, it really is unlimited full speed data in some cases (VM won't be soon). But the mvnos should just be straight up and admit their unlimited full speed is less then their parent carrier's full speed (Tmobile offers five gigs at 4G speeds before throttle on their $70 plan vs. Simple's probable 1 gig with throttle cap on their $60 4g plan.

At least Red Pocket is supposed to be admitting it's a gig with throttle.

Saves a lot of hand wringing and cuts down on the angry data hogs and dealers later.

Go in with your eyes open, unlimited never is.

    Very interesting.

If anyone springs for the "up to 3G" plan, could they please report their speeds here? If by "3G" they mean, say, no worse than 500 kbps down, that might be tolerable for the price.

The data-only plans are neat too, but they are not provisioned for voice at all. Too bad. Data plan + pay-per-use voice/text would be great.

Simple has already affected the competition:

"Page Plus was expected to increase the allotment to 300 MB within the past month. However, sources informed PhoneNews.com that they have halted such plans after hearing of these changes, and are instead pushing Verizon to offer lower wholesale per-kilobyte rates, as well as a plan to access Verizon’s 4G LTE data network."

I'm considering moving my wife onto this $40 plan with an unlocked iPhone 4. Does Simple provide Micro-SIMs, or do I need to buy a card-cutter?

    Thanks,

I think you would need to cut it yourself, although ebay has some that are precut, but they don't look offical

Awesome - I was browsing around and just didn't notice the SIM section. Was curious which phones they had "approved" and were selling.

    Thanks again,

Just changed my Simple Mobile service from my previous $60.00 4G plan to the new $40.00 3G plan today, thought that I will save some $$$, am I wrong, have using the new plan for three hours and was very upset about the data download speed.
When I had the $60.00 4G plan, the download speed was really 4G, average 1.5M to 2M, which was really great.
And now today after the plan switched, the so call 3G download speed is cap at 119 kbps, yes 119 kbps!!! I have tried 10 speedtest tests within one hour period time and all cap at the same download speed of 119 kps, no more and no less.
Then I tried played some Youtube videos, the speed is so slow that even the low quality ones buffers constantly, damn, what a diffrence with my previous 4G plan.
I will now stuck with this crappy 3G speed for at least a month, hope that Simple Mobile will raise the download speed so it is more useable.
After this month, I am planning to either going back to the $60.00 4G plan or change my service to Straight Talk $45.00 3G plan, which my friends said is pity good, at least useable.

Well... there you have it. Simple Mobile's idea of "3G" speed is to throttle it down just as badly as T-Mobile does when you bust their caps. What a scam.

1-2 mb for 4g is just basically higher side of 3G. The Att mvnos are advertising "4g" data but their speeds are pretty meh too from what I see , though it probably varies from device to device as well as service area.

Simple's 3G barely qualifies as 3G if it goes at those speeds. We'll see if we get a lot of angry users over the speed as well as the throttling. lol.

It's still the best priced unlimited everything plan in prepaid wireless on a national network. Yes, there are compromises, no roaming, soft cap, throttle, slower speeds. But for bang for the buck it beats up on any other offering out there.

I think the effects of this plan may be more important then the plan itself. Especially how the Verizon, Sprint and Att mvnos response. Verizon and Att are just now getting into the $50 unlimited everything feature phone game so aren't going to move radically in the very near future probably and Simple Mobile's presence is limited to strong Tmobile native markets. If Tmobile is weak in a market, Simple will be too (primarily talking about coverage issues). But the effect it will probably have on the competition may reverse some of the negative things we've been seeing recently (Att taking away international texting from most of its mvnos, Sprint prepaid adding on throttle to "unlimited" data in October on Virgin Mobile, raising broadband/Beyond Talk rates as well as Boost Mobile Android surcharge. Yeah, VM lowered their unlimited plan and Blackberry plans but they aren't the most popular plans there.

Hoping this plan has a "shock" effect on the rest of the industry . I see it as a boot to the rear that the prepaid unlimited wars on nowhere near coming to a rest or end.

    Good.

Now if they'd up those "3g" speeds just a bit.

    Since people want some proof.

Below are the Speedtest.net results I captured. See the 119kbps download speed.

Also see the below result, please note the download graph on the left hand side. You can notice a constant straight line there, which shows that the download speed is cap at 119kbps. :(
