    Hp Touchpad Tethering

If anybody got in on the firesale, have you tried tethering Mobi's data connection from your phone to the HP Touchpad? I've read that some people say the Touchpad doesn't recognize the signal or can't connect. Does it depend on which phone you use?

Think it depend on the type of connection applied. WiFi hotspot from an Android should be fine but Bluetooth connections will get fuzzy.

The HP Touchpad can't connect to adhoc networks. If you are using a program similiar to Joikuspot to create your hotspot, the Touchpad won't find the network.

Android's buiolt in hotspot (2.2 and up) should work fine as it is not an Ad-Hoc connection.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

also the wifi tethering app from market (not barnacle) creates an infrastructure network I believe

I'm running Android 2.3 with built in tethering and my Touchpad has no issues connecting to it. The Touchpad doesn't connect to ad-hoc networks but connects fine to infrastructure networks.

Bang for buck, Asus eeepad transformer, Best Honeycomb Tablet at present Galaxy Tab 10.1 (based on reviews) most popular would be an iPad (also has the most apps and best developers). I have an iPad 2 and really like it but am waiting for the Galaxy Tab 7 to drop due the smaller form factor.
