Contract expires Oct, Still on Iphone 3G from Sept 2008, Can I renew and not HUP yet?

If I renew my contract before my contract expires early October in order to keep all the credits going for another 3 years, but I elect not to HUP yet cause I want the new Iphone 4S/5, will I still get to HUP later on in the year at the 3 year discount price?

I know for sure I've generated less than $1200 for them (based on my avg bill of ~30 for the past 35 months cause I was not required to get data when I got the Iphone 3G back then) so I'm at the lowest end of the tier but because I have not HUP since the Iphone 3G I should be able to get the new Iphone for the 3 year contract price they will offer right?

Yes you should be able to get the 3 year price since you habe mot done a recent HUP

But you are not guranteed to get all your credits back, you may need to do some negiotiating as some credits can not be grandfathered

You are probably also going to be required to add data again to get 3 year pricing and remove later if you want.

If your credits don't expire yet then why not go month to months until the phone becomes available?

shame that it has come to credits not being allowed when renewing while still on contract
i will try my best to keep my plan existing for another 3 years

i cant go month to month and wait for new iphone late in the year since my contract ends and the monthly plan credits end with it which is offsetting my whole base voice plan price

thanks for the info and assurance i can HUP after i renew my contract cause i thought i had to renew contract and HUP at the same time which would mean only an iphone4 instead of iphone#whatever when it comes out later this year
