I was speculating that having web turned on when the new rates became effective might be the reason some people see both $0.35 web and $0.50 web options on the website.

Since you had customer service readd the 35 cent web, I would be curious, if you turn it off online, would you be offered the 35 cent option to turn it back on? Or would you need to call customer service each time you turn it off/on?

Also, does anyone have any comments about these questions:

Also, will I lose the grandfather status if I need to change handsets?

Can a grandfathered account be transferred to another person by selling or giving the phone and changing all the personal info on the account, leaving the phone number the same?

you have asked this 3 times. I'm not answering on principal.
Putting the phone you want on the service you pay for is not a crime. No one has ever been convicted of it!
No one has ever been convicted of talking about it either!

So I guess customer service is the only way to stay on the grandfathered plan.

I'd say when there is some confusion such as this over things its best to call in to cs and ask if you want to stay on the old rates and enable/disable web.

Sorry about that, but my questions about change of handset and transfer of handset were getting buried. I hope these issues (in terms of their impact or nonimpact on grandfathered Pay Go) can still be discussed on this thread, as I am sure I am not the only one wanting to know about this.

Hopefully, they will fix the web site so grandfathered customers can turn web on and off without burdening customer service.

Call them up and ask, or try it and post.

Aye In the meantime with more people calling in about it should create awareness and get them to fix the website sooner.

Didn't want to bother them as I do not have a current need to change handsets or assign my handset & plan to another person. I am curious, as I may need to do these things in the future and wonder if the grandfathered Pay Go plan would survive such transactions. (Actually, I would think the handset assigment would be as simple as updating the contact info on the web and providing the handset to whoever is to have it. But I was wondering if a total change of contact info would effect the plan's grandfather status?)

Yeah, I think the 20 cent talk/text rate is a crock. The web rate I can live with but talk/text is supposed to be getting cheaper all the time. When you have mvnos like Ptel and Mingo offer 5-7 cents a minute AND they have a lesser markup then Boost does, there's really no excuse or reason to except to gouge or put pressure on people to go to other plans. (10 minutes of talk , it's just cheaper to switch to $2 a day unlimited).

These are the rates they had in 2008 so Boost mobile is regressing in paygo.

You are right about that, they seem to want subs to go with $50 unlimited or $2pd. It's probably the start of the end for PAYGO users on Boost Mobile (which may be a very small # of Boost's total subscribers).
CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!

They still have not fixed the website for grandfather Pay as You Go users to turn on 35 cent web. It still shows 50 cents for my grandfathered account.

have you tried changing it and see if you get billed .50 or .35. It might just be a front end issue.

It's not a front end issue. If you add data on a grandfathered plan that has only the $.50 option showing on the website, your plan will be changed to the new rates for talk, text, mms, and data. If you do it, there is no way to change back.
