They will get an SII derived Droid Charge upgrade instead. Basically a thicker SII with CDMA/LTE radios more than likely. No one knows exactly what form/materials this device will be, but it's pretty likely to exist according to rumors.

There is also supposedly a second device VZW will get in the next Nexus. This seems it will be an SII with HD AMOLED, Android 4.0, and no capacitive buttons more than likely.

Basically current rumor/speculations states VZW skipped out on official USA SII launch to get interim SII to SIII devices first essentially. It's also possible Dual-Core CDMA/LTE Droid Charge replacement will be of a thickness that Samsung didn't want to really call it an Galaxy SII?? Regardless more official info will probably hit on October 11 at a CTIA event Samsung plans to announce some stuff at so you only need to wait 2 more weeks to get more official info.

Is the Galaxy Nexus hardware based on the SII hardware?
