Thanks guys! Good to hear that they're actually capable of releasing a port.

Damn this thread is crazy. Good thing I found it before paying that $40. These speeds are no different than what I'm currently getting with sprint and have been for the past 9 mos. So now I'm following through with my original plan to get tmobile prepaid.

This plan is great for feature phones and 2gsm phones of any type including most Att unlocked devices. For smartphones that need 3g and 4g speeds, Tmobile's plans are better. Simple Mobile's Blackberry gsm plans are still cheaper then Tmo's by $10 a month though. Give up roaming for voice though.
I've been on TMO Monthly 4G Prepaid for about a week now, and it's been one nasty surprise after another. I lost my access to YouMail, because they don't offer conditional call forwarding. Well, no big deal, I guess. I really liked the blocking of private calls, but I guess I can do without and just use the regular TMO voicemail.
Well, this weekend I found out that the Prepaid accounts don't have the "enhanced" voicemail that the postpaid accounts do. That means, among other things, that you're limited to 15 voicemail messages total. After that, callers get the "voicemail is full" message. And you can't go with an alternate voicemail provider because of the lack of CCF. So I guess I'll be carrying around a notepad and scribbling my voicemail info down so I can delete them to make room.
I'm thinking about the Simple Mobile $60 plan, if I can figure out what the cap is, if they block portable wireless hotspot capability, and if it includes enhanced voicemail. TMO only allows tethering/hotspot on the $70 plan, and even that is described as a "temporary" feature.

Just a thought - wait until your month is a few days from being up, and then activate a brand-new SIM with the TMo plan of your choice. Port the number to Google Voice. Forward GV to your new SIM, and give the old/GV number to everyone. Make all your calls and texts through GV. If you're okay with a solution like this, you get a lot more control over your voicemail.
SM is not where you want to go if you're looking for answers. No enhanced voicemail, no CCF, and no official cap. The most reliable estimate people have found is 2gb then throttle.
I'm personally switching to the $30/month for 100 mins / Unl Txt / Unl 4G Data (5gb throttle) from Tmo!
I can figure out SIP with 5gb and fast internet on a roaming plan...

and
"Yes...ok...right...bluetooth...ok...video...o k
ALLRIGHT. I got that already! But, How do I make a CALL?!?!?"
I tether with TMobile Prepaid on $60 and $30 plans all the time. No problems.
Simple Mobile does monitor for tethering and there are many reports of people getting warnings if they detect it.
Don't know about the voicemail... not popular enough to need to save more than 15 messages![]()
I just switched from T-Mobile to Simple Mobile's $40 plan. I have a 3G slide and receive the same results. ~120kbps down and > 120kbps when switched phone to GSM only. As far as the class action not being an option didn't ATT try that and one lawyer take that and complied several users to file against ATT? Basically turning the no class action option against them?

Ah yes, here is the article. Is this something to consider?

So i've been on the $40 plan since the 13/11 and at first i was getting similar results as most of the people in this thread, but as of the end of last month i've ran a few tests and these are the speeds i've been getting on the $40 plan on my Nexus S.

I switched to the Tmo $30 plan. Here are my speeds. The bottom result is my roadrunner cable internet. I like this plan so much better.
EDIT: I have a Samsung Vibrant so no "4G" speeds... Pretty good still...
