As others have stated, it sounds like data has been turned off on your line. Your only option is to call PP customer service and get them to turn it back on. I currently have a vx8300 on PP and I can guarantee you that sending and receiving MMS works just fine.
As far as your browser problem goes, I really don't think you will have any luck with it as long as you are using the Page Plus proxy server. I have experimented with 3 different feature phones (all LG phones, however) and changing the homepage makes no difference. It always brings you back to the MSN homepage. As soon as I switched my proxy server to hopke.net everything started working normally. Just my experience...............
Is there anyone with a feature phone on PP using the PP proxy server that has successfully changed their homepage and then have the web browser actually open and stay at the new homepage and not redirect itself back to the MSN homepage? If so, what model of phone are you using?

Thanks for all of your answers. I did call PP customer service today. They told me they could try resetting the data for the phone, but they couldn't do anything else because it isn't one of their phones. I have the LG vx8300, but it is a Verizon phone, not a PP branded phone. They also said for MMS to work, the browser has to work. After I spoke with them, again I tried to send a MMS message with no luck. They told me I could buy a new phone for $40 and everything will work.
Taoman54 is your 8300 a Verizon phone or a PP phone? What does it say on the outside of the phone? Thanks
I have a Verizon branded vx8300 that I had on Verizon postpaid for a couple years when it first came out.
Your browser does not have to work in order for MMS to work. Although they both require data to function one is not dependent upon the other in any way.
Sounds like you are not having much luck with PP customer service. My suggestion would be to go thru a dealer and let them deal with Page Plus support. You can find a list of HoFo members who are also dealers here or you can just Google Page Plus dealers. From your description it sounds like the data problem is something that PP did on their end. Or you can open a support ticket on the PP web site. Takes longer but I've had better luck going that route than calling into support.
Once you get MMS working again I would sign up for an account at Zaksenterprises.com and use their proxy server and see if your browser works better. It's free so it's worth a shot.
Well I tried calling the CS again, as well as opening a support ticket. They both tell me that they don't support this phone because it isn't a PP branded phone. They're telling me the problem could be the phone itself. Then I tell them the phone worked fine when I had Verizon. All they say is if I want to buy a new phone, that will fix the problem.
When you edit the paramtable1.fil file with the hex editor and you change the the 3rd value from 00 to 20, then you send the new file to the phone so you can change the settings for WAP. After you change the settings, are you supposed to change the 20 back to 00? Thats the only thing I can think of I changed before my MMS stopped working.
No, you don't need to change that paramtable1.fil value back.
Well I signed up with Zaks, but still can't view my browser. It still says Network unavailable, try later. I change the Primary Proxy Address and Primary Proxy Port to the 208.38.181.29 (do you have to add .com?) and 9201
Set the User Name to your 10-digit mobile number.
Set your User Password to the password you requested for ZaksWap.
Set your Homepage to http://wap.zaksenterprises.com/index...ur10digitcell# Just replace your10digitcell# with your actual cell#
Reboot the phone.
Am I missing something?
Is MMS working now? If not, I would still suspect that data isn't enabled on your line regardless of what PP customer support says. I would do an ESN swap with another Verizon branded phone and see if MMS and the browser is working or not. If you don't have another Verizon branded phone that you can swap with I would contact a dealer. They should be able to do an ESN swap on your line and confirm whether data is actually enabled or not. If it isn't, let the dealer contact PP customer service about the issue.
Hi taoman54 and thanks for the reply. No my MMS isn't working either. I did call PP again today and ask them about the data, and they told me they would reset it. Then while the woman was doing it, I heard her say hmmmmm, so I asked her if there was a problem. She only told me to power down the phone and wait 2-3 minutes, then it should be ok. But it didn't help.
I don't know about an ESN swap. I don't have another phone to use.Any idea what dealer would be willing to help me?
I'm REALLY frustrated with this stupid company. I have called them so many times about this issue with no luck. I have submitted 2 support tickets, I have asked a dealer to help (and he said he couldn't help), I even asked to speak with a supervisor (and was refused). I really don't know what else to do but leave this company. From all the good things I read about PP. I thought I would be happy with them. Turns out I was wrong.
I tried to explain to the last customer service girl that my browser worked fine for 4 days, then after I called PP to ask them about viewing yahoo mail, PP "reset" something on their end and stopped my browser from working. ALL THEY KEEP TELLING ME IS THEY DON'T SUPPORT THE PHONE AND THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THE BROWSER WILL WORK. They also say the problem is with my phone. Well, if my phone can access the browser with no problems for 4 days, then suddenly stop after I call them, it would seem the problem is on their end.
I wanted to let everyone know that I FINALLY got my problem fixed with not being able to use the browser or not receiving MMS messages, with NO help from CS. They are useless.I submitted 2 tickets, and called them about 20 times and all they could say is THEY DON'T SUPPORT THE PHONE AND THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THE BROWSER WILL WORK. They also say the problem is with my phone. THEY WERE WRONG.
With the advice from taoman54, I contacted a dealer. I want to thank taoman54 for all the help he gave me,and if it wasn't for him, I probably would have left PPC. First I tried one dealer on my own, and they couldn't help me. The first dealer only told me to contact CS about the issue.
Then I got in touch with [another] dealer. What they did was an ESN reset, and gave me detailed instructions on what I should do. Within 30 minutes my phone was working the way it was supposed to with MMS and the browser.

Must still be standard procedure for this dealer to solicit hofo forum posts from people they may have helped. But let it be known there are any number of dealers out there that would have been willing to perform your "esn reset" - some even for FREE. Really nothing special here.
(Cue the Tmason post)

I recently tested the "don't mention a PP Dealer by name" rule here on PP Hofo......trust me, it is still in effect - got me a 7 day ban.
Good luck with that one.
