Droid 3 OTA Software Update --- Same as a factory reset?

I have been reading that VZW will be offering an OTA software update in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone know if installing such an update results in the same thing as doing a full factory reset? Should I plan on spending the next few weeks after updating, re-establishing all my settings (home screen contents, email server settings, contacts, ringtones, etc)?

The OTA update preserves the user data partition and only wipes the cache partition, so no, it is not the same as a factory reset.

The update also includes a new bootloader though, so you cannot return to the current release after you have upgraded.

The update.zip and the full version XML.zip have both been leaked for weeks now, so there is a lot of info and user feedback available about the build.
