Unhappy A few iPhone and Simple Mobile questions...

Alright, so I finally made an account for Howardforums, I've been lurking this forum since the Ocean for Helio came out >_<.

Anyways, I'm on virgin, with the optimus V, its a whatever phone, too small though. I enjoy having "unlimited" data, even though I'm SURE its capped and they throttle it after a while, and unlimited texting, BUT I need to get a new phone, because I dropped mine in coffee, and i cant make phone calls. I also need a new iPod Touch, so this is where the iPhone comes in.

I know that the iPhone on Simple Mobile only gets 2g (EDGE) speeds, I honestly don't mind that, I mostly use the internet on my phone for FB, Twitter, and basic browsing, I rarely stream crap, some people say to go to H2O, but don't you need a verizon iphone for that?

I heard that there are some issues setting up the MMS, and Data with simple mobile, but theres a fix... does this fix work for iOS5 Beta?

    Email works right?

Anyone here has the iPhone on simple mobile? Whats your opinion?

I'm sorry for all of these questions, ive browsed the simple mobile forums to see if i find answers, but I cant find all of them. I really wanna make sure before I spend money for an iPhone on craigslist. Thanks <3

H2O has SIM cards that run off AT&T's network. This is why folks are advising you to try them out.

H20's data is also throttled and is about is fast as T-Moble's EDGE network.

I would rather save the extra $20 a month (if you have good T-mobile coverage) and go with Simple mobile.

As for MMS and APN settings (for iOS4 and older), they can be found on here. Not sure about the iOS5 question, just because it's gonna take some time for developers to jailbreak it and make those settings accessible.

I browsed the H2O thread and it says that data is throttled but not as badly as EDGE. Users are reporting about 500 kbps maximum download speeds in some regions, and up to 1500 or even 2000 kbps down in others, on the iPhone.

Hmmm, thanks guys. Yea I heard some good stuff about H20, but I'm really not a heavy internet user, other than basic social networking, plus I have wifi at home, so idk if i want to spend an extra 20 bucks for some what faster internet... but ill see after a month of being with simple mobile.

I really wanna try out iOS5 beta, but I guess ill just wait.

ONE LAST QUESTION! Does the GPS work on Simple Mobile?

Use http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ to set it up automatically. There is an entry in the menu for US Simple Mobile.
