He's referring to the inadvertent use of data he incurred while going through the process of setting up his Pixi, not to some fixed charge by either PPC or a dealer.

To Boz1:
Based on this statement by the OP, and using what is called "deductive reasoning" and "my best guess," I made the statement in my previous post you seem to have an issue with. Do I have to put "IMHO" after every post I make? Or do you think PPC actually would normally charge someone like this? Reality check. (IMO).
How about Rockey checking in and clarifying things for Boz1?

From what i read on their web site activation is $10.00 and thats what i'm going with, since then i have refilled my minutes using the 100 minute card for $10.00 but have been blowing thru that since my phone is trying to download the latest Web Os updates. Thanks to RGG for telling me about Web Os Doctor and that seems to have worked last night.

Odd, but then, sorry everyone for me being presumptuous.
So, if you can remember, you somehow noticed your account balance was down $10, or they actually had you submit a credit card for a $10 charge? I made my assumption based on how easy it is (since I've activated the same phone on PPC) to just leave cell data on without knowing how it's draining your account. Luckily for me when I started, the Palm system did not try to update the webOS until well after I had the account established and data methods selected.
In addition to the "fix" you found by having webOS Doctor do the update through your PC-to-phone connection (after quite a healthy download for it -- it's a big program), I believe there's a way to go into what's called "Developer Mode" and make selections that allow you to control automatic features like the OS update thing, although I do not at this time know how to fully make use of that feature. I guess I'll have to spend more time on precentral.net!
yes unfortunately it would not let me bypass the Web Os update and turn on Wifi, that would have made things alot easier for me, i donwloaded the Web Os last night and upated my phone in less than 45 minutes so that was not a big deal at all.
So far i'm liking the Palm Pixi Plus but am getting used to it with the Web Os operating system, i am somewhat familiar with it as i was able to pick up at Touchpad back when they went on sale and it runs Web Os as well.
thank you all for the replys
Rockey
Glad the OS Doctor worked!
