    Unlimited GPRS and LTE

I have seen some discussion on this topic in various threads. But I would like to hear from FIDO CSRs. So far the Unlimited GPRS $50 data plan has worked first when EDGE was introduced, then with 3G. Will it work with the new LTE? Is the LTE a different frequency/band? The pricing is the same as per Rogers latest $50 for 10 gb as compared to $30 for 6gb prior which was $5 per gb.

Fido hasn't launched an LTE network as of yet. LTE will require separate access as can be seen on Rogers and Bell. The same will be for Fido as well.

On Rogers, you cannot access the LTE network without an LTE data plan and SIM card. Will likely be the same story when it rolls out on Fido.

I had read on other threads that Fido customers back east were accessing LTE. Just wondering if Fido has any info?

Ever since Fido got bought out by Rogers, they don't even have there own GSM/Edge/HSPA network, what makes you think they will have there own LTE Network.

I can see Rogers giving Fido access to there LTE Network, but that probably won't happen for a while. I remember when Rogers Rolled out HSPA Nationally they gave Fido access to it about a year or so later, so the same may happen in this case.

    Wirelessly posted (Bellus: BlackBerry8520/5.0.0.900 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/309)

Just wait till the lte rocket sticks become unlockable and then I would test your GPUNL with it and see what speeds you measure. From what I've been hearing on rogers a special apn might be needed for true lte speeds and only fido can give that out but we'll see.

I should've used the word "announced", not "launched". Fido will eventually have LTE access, and there will be a premium for it just like on Rogers and Bell.

LTE is nice to have, but... I can't even get 21Mbps using my stick... that for me alone would be ok.. Can't be too greedy!

HSPA was available the exact same day as on Rogers. Anyone with a 3G phone had access immediately.

And pretty much every city was blanketed with giant Fido billboards and bus ads promoting the "Fido 3G Experience" and video calling. In fact, the Fido 3G marketing was much more widespread than Rogers.

    Not entirely True!

You may have had access to the the 3G network but there were no 3G phones on Fido that were sold by Fido, when Rogers launched hspa, I agree Fido did a better Job then Rogers in marketing it, but it was almost 8 months to a year later.

Rogers First HSPA phones were Samsung A706, LG Shine, LG TU-500 and then I believe it was Treo 750.

True, I remember that I was using the HTC Tytn phones on Fido and 3G appeared and we were doing video conferencing (Face time for the Iphone folks).

Just a question though a friend has the new Blackberry 9900 and he doesn't have any special APN or new sim card and his phone now shows H+ is that the new LTE ????

What need need is a Sprint or Verizon in Canada. I know Sprint tried to get in an failed via the phone markets but their CDMA LTE seems to come at a good price point, their phones are nice, and they have nation wide coverage.....
I'm not telling you anything that you can't just google for yourself
