Does anybody have any info on the Pantech Hotshot? My local Radio Shacks have had a dummy phone for a few weeks now but they don't have any info. When I contacted Pantech they gave me the standard "we don't comment on future products" line.
I think the model number is 8992, and it's a touchscreen Feature Phone.
I just got the hotshot for free as an upgrade from my trusty V3m Razr which I hacked to death and loved. If you connect the hotshot to the computer you can easily put Photos or MP3s on the Micro SD or the Phone memory. In true Verizon fashion however, you can not apply the tones a ringtone....UNLESS and I know you were hoping for a work around, send the tone to your own phone number, when it arrives the option to "Apply as Ring tone" is there, on my phone anyway. Hope this helps.
I just received a Pantech Hotshot also as an upgrade for a Motorola phone which I had for years. I tried to send the ringtone to myself and received the following message, Invalid Destination Address. So I tried to send a picture to my wife's phone,LG Extravert and received the same message. Am I doing something wrong? Wrong settings on phone? I had turned off text messages on my plan years ago when my wife and her daughter didn't want to talk or text. I was able to send ringtones to my phone, memory card which I could see as music but not ringtones. I am stumped. I was able to load a bunch of ringtones on the LG Extravert with no problem. Maybe I should have gotten one instead.
