I have 3 years old Sony z750 and it's very basic so can't tell. I'm using Sony PC suite for a tethering. It worked great in 2009. LOL. This why I hope someone can confirm that. I use epc.tmobile. com from howard.wiki for APN settings. Maybe this why. Will try another ones.Originally Posted by cmstlist

Just on a whim, maybe go into My T-Mobile and see if Web Guard got switched on? Not that I would expect that to block https, but it could be getting in the way.

I don't have my T-Mobile account. Maybe this problem happens only with this new plan.? I haven't seen anyone mentioned this before.Originally Posted by cmstlist
I too have a similar situation. I'm currently in Canada and I just switched to the new 2$ PBTD plan and I sent out a text just to see what would happen, and it actually activated the 2$ fee even though I was roaming on Rogers. This was not the case with the old 1$/PBTD plan. It also charged me 10c for the text sent as well. But to receive I did not get charged. I hope they fix this issue soon. Any other Canadians encounter this?
What do you mean you don't have it? If you haven't logged into that account online yet, you can do it from www.t-mobile.com and I think it sends a verification code to the phone.

Yes. I've done this. Trying to turn off "web guard" but always getting message about error saving my changes in "age verification".Originally Posted by cmstlist
Thanks. It's became too complicated.
Oh strange. My account used to have web guard turned off, and all I needed to do was log into the web site and turn it off. Now it's magically flipped itself back on. And it's asking for the last 4 digits of an SSN (which I don't have). I'm not in the US right now but if I can't get this turned back off I'll be royally ticked.
Walmart local to me had the Dart with the new sticker on the box referencing this plan. That was the only phone, and nothing else about the plan. Phone was $119.
You can't disable webguard online on prepaid (only worked for a short while, but no longer works). And webguard is always on by default when you switch or start plans. To deactivate webguard you must call TMobile and give them the same info the website requests -- last four of SSN, birthday, etc, and they will verify you are an adult and then disable it.
I don't think webguard would block HTTPS (it seems like port 443 is being blocked instead) but you can give it a shot. Tmobile's web guard DOES see lots of things (such as lottery results, etc) as not fit for kids and blocks them so maybe all HTTPS is blocked due to it.
Oh dear. I got an answer and it's not pretty.
According to the rep I just spoke to, every time you make a change on your rate plan, Web Guard turns back on.
So if I visit the USA and turn on the $3/day plan to get data, I will get Web Guarded again until I visit a T-Mobile store with a piece of ID (since I don't have an SSN I can't disable it online). And then if I switch back to pay-by-the-minute because I'm finished with my trip, I will again have to visit a store to flip it.
