I haven't been getting any texts, the TMo site says $70.04 balance (actually $3.30 disappeared, SIM came with $3.34 and I added $100) and that the phone is on the WalMart plan. I just wondered if anyone has had trouble with the renewal since the early adopters in October (I think the reports have been of problems with renewal in November?). Renewal on this phone is Feb 10 or Feb 11.
Been on this plan since Nov 6th, Just renewed again this month no issues at all.
I get a text 3 days prior to the due date reminding me, I get one more text on the day where service renews at midnight.
I get a confirmation text when I add money to the account (Via $30 pin card), then a text when my new month renews and money is taken out.
No problems at all, could just be that I purchase a pin number every month and add it online manually.
So then what happens? Are they still claiming your eligibility for the $30/5GB plan is over, or are they able to reactivated it now? Sounds like putting $100 on up-front was a mistake.

Just call in on the renewal date. They can renew it manually.
Got the "your payment is due in 3 days, to make a payment call or visit [URL]" which is weird because there's a big enough balance.
BTW, last year $6 disappeared mysteriously from my prepaid account and they put it back. This year $2.94 disappeared mysteriously and they're putting it back. At some point one has to wonder...

Just checked "My Account" usage.. and it says 66 minutes remaining (that's fine), Data Used 0MB.
My plan started back in Feb 2nd. So it reset my data usage again. Wish i knew, I had only used 400MB up to this point.
This is the 2nd time this has happened. Neat!

No need to unlock the phone if it is a T-mobile phone. A list of all phones would be stinking long ) Every unlocked GSM phone would work with this plan, but with different results. Your best bet would be to get something that works with T-mobile frequencies.
If the phone supports T-mobile's 4G, you will get 4G data speeds (depending on what is available in your area).
Looking like I'm going to jump from a postpaid plan to this in the next two-three weeks. Testing with Skype+GV to make sure everything works well over 3G first. Going to port my postpaid number to GV, then GV can ring Skype. Should skype be unavailable, rollover to the phone's prepaid number. I'll probably carry a spare AT&T SIM in my phones case with gophone service active should I need it.
The idea of finally having a viable prepaid plan in the United States is awesome.
If you really expect an interesting signature, look elsewhere ... - AT&T *really* amazed me, but their spotty 3G network lost me.
