Lots under that mark on ebay or Craiglist for new or nearly new 4g super (ie dual core) phones. Bought a 1 month old unused LG G2X for $250. The phone gets some mixed reviews due to problems with the first batch but I've had no problems with the phone and it is noticeably faster than my older Samsung Vibrant.
GX2 is nice for the price right now but really want the largest screen possible. With SGS2 & Nexus Prime with ICS coming out next week I wonder how long it will take for prices to get down to around $300?

I am interested in this because of my desire to use this http://www.hamiltoncaptel.com/mobile...le_captel.html with one phone. I don’t know if any of you have seen my posts of what I am now doing that takes two phones and uses their WebCapTel that was originally developed for use with a computer. I have discovered that I can use a smartphone browser in place of the computer browser and a dumbphone as the phone to get captions out in the middle of no where if there is cell service from my carrier.
Having just discovered that I may have good enough coverage from T-Mobile to use the app, am thinking about just what to do for a phone as I have no assurance of this working or not and I don’t want to be out any more than I have to incase this does not work. I do prefer a physical keyboard.
What I am currently doing is using a Droid 2 (on Page Plus) and a LG 3280 (TracFone) which both use Verizon towers as I don’t what the cost of a Thunderbolt on Verizon! I am in a Verizon 3G area and the Thunderbolt is the only one I have heard of getting simultaneous voice/data on their 3G band.

buying a phone on eBay is pretty much a no brainer for T-Mobile, as long as it's a T-Mobile phone and branded as such it will work no problems with no guess work provided it's not broken.
I will be keeping my current setup as a backup and if DuBois continues to be just 2G can take that combination with me down there.
Looking for opinions of the HTC G1. What has attracted me to it is the 5 row keyboard. I will be entering full phone numbers in a box on a web site every time I call with it.

Running FroYo? Mine had a serious problem rebooting every few hours. I upgraded to Gingerbread (Weapon G2) and have had no problems since.
Proud to be named the 13th man for the Vermont Frost Heaves, for their home game on 2-16-2007 against the Maryland Nighthawks.
Our feedback about Verizon Wireless agents as Verizon Wireless Prepay customers is: they are pointless to us.
Granted, but they are really pushing it when they sell "4G" plans with 2G phones like the X2.
At the risk of being labeled a heretic, I'd really like $20/mo for 100mins and the same data allotment at 2G speeds. I don't care about high-speed; I just want to keep my smartphone synced, get text email, stuff like that.
Right now I get by on prepaid minutes (way less than 100/month) and a few day passes for data. My monthly is a little less than $10 since I use few mins and lean on wifi for data. Would I double that to $20 for (slow but consistent) data? You bet. Will I pay $30 for speed I won't use. Thinking about it.

Here is the reason why T-M is doing this:
http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/TMobile-to-Take-Major-Subscriber-Hit-Thanks-to-ATT-116479
"he average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Bloomberg predicts T-Mobile is poised to lose 1.2 million contract customers during the fourth quarter, compared to 390,000 the year before."

It's pretty slow and low on ram. I would go for something a bit more updated although your 5 row options are severely limited...

Thank you. You are the first one to give me any feedback on this. I have noticed the lack of numerious 5 row options and can't help but wonder why. It is something that I really wish for when using the Droid 2 on the other service and thus would really like it if this will work for me. I do realize that what I want to do is not a mainstream task.

If you want a phone with a 5 Row KeyBoard think you should get the Samsung Sidekick 4g. I was thinking of either getting the Sidekick 4g or Tmobile G2. From the reviews I have seen/read the Tmobile G2 seems like a better phone but I really like the design of Sidekick 4g. If anyone owns a Sidekick 4g tell me what you like and dislike about the phone.

I would be very interested in knowing those things too!

Is there any phone to support both ATT and T-mobile 3G?
The T-Mobile Motorola Cliq2 has 850 for AT&T. I'm using it on the $50 unlimited plan in the Dallas area, it works but is throttled. The T-Mobile HTC Sensation and the myTouch slide 4G has 1900 for AT&T but they don't use it in my area.
