Really thinking Apple might not do as well as they hoped with this phone. It's like the Windows ME of the Apple lineup.
It looks just like the 4, so you really aren't missing much unless you really need the world part, or want a 64 gb/dual-core/better performing iPhone (And that aspect would be a waste since theres no apps taking advantage of the power.) I'd buy an iphone when it gets a 4 inch screen and LTE, but that won't be for a while, if ever. Sigh.
And the 3GS is a old dog at this point. Apple needs to put it down. Does it even get the full ios5 functions?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I personally really don't want a bigger screen. 4" screen I might be able to get used to although it would be reluctantly. Bigger doesn't always mean better. I still want the phone to be comfortable to hold and keep in my pocket. I've been talking about the screen size thing for a while now with people I know and most surprisingly agree with me. Some always want bigger. Some see it as a must to remain competitive (lol?). Most Howard Forums folks seem to be dead set on bigger is better, I just don't get it.
This phone will still do very well and it isn't because people are "sheep".
Well this just made my decision to buy the Galaxy S II a couple days back even more acceptable. The improvements are nice but nothing stellar to warrant a swap at this point. Good phone for new people for sure, but not a worthy upgrade for me.
I'm probably in the minority on this but I was hoping for an iPhone 4S because I can use the same cases and accessories and most importantly, put it on Page Plus.
im just sorry that it was not called an iPhone 5…. i mean really..?? Would it have made you guys more happy had they called it an iPhone 5..??
It wouldn't be as disappointing for me if they hadn't done the price hike on the 64gb model. Every single other upgrade in memory has been priced at the same price as the highest tier was the year before, and they did that for three years running. To suddenly see them bump the price up $100 for more memory is a bit too much, for me.
To some the changes will be enough, but for me it's not enough to shell out the extra cash to upgrade (but I'm in Canada, so things are different up here than they are for the rest of you in the US.)

3.5 is borderline unusable for me. I got big hands. And really 4 inches will hardly increase the footprint of the actual device, theres plenty of 4 inch android phones that have the same footprint as the iPhone

Fail to see how/why you would buy a $600-700 phone, and put it on metro/page plus.
I must have missed the entire thing about which carriers it would go to...Is Cincinnati Bell a confirmed carrier for AWS 3G HSDPA? Would like to use it on T-Mobile actually, but just wondering.
Wondering if it work the same way as the BlackBerry Storm. My phone that can switch between Verizon & T-Mobile at will. I'm due for an upgrade....3 years ago.
So they didn't put out an LTE phone, but claim that they created an enhanced antenna system, using dual-antennas, which "theoretically" double the download speed to 14+Mbps on a regular CDMA network (since its 1 phone for all networks)?
From the Engadget Liveblog (referenced int he second post): "2:01PM Theoretical download speeds are now twice, 14.4Mbps versus 7.2 on the iPhone 4."
Is that even possible? Or is that only on AT&T's network?
EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like this is only on AT&T's network, and the CDMA chip is just a regular EVDO. Weak.
