Well, I broke down and bought the Bionic for the Bluetooth MAP (Message Access Profile) and when it didn't seem to work as advertised, wanted to test my trusty Driod X and compare BT Profiles.
Guess what? The SIM expires at midnight the day you deactivate it. This is a real PITA for those, like me, who do frequent ESN swaps. You actually have to order a new card for each reactivation.
Anybody found an easier way to reactivate VZ LTE devices?

A couple of forum members said the SIM goes dead at midnight following the deactivation.
It's a real PITA. Particularly if'n you have experience with GSM where SIMs are good for years with phone after phone after phone. I really don't know what the point is for VZW to bomb SIMs like this?? Seems to have something to do with the CDMA only and LTE/SIM mix though. Guess if'n you are playing with all LTE/SIM capable devices the issue will go away hopefully.
Actually, it is dead as soon as you activate the 3G device.
That's correct. As soon as you deactivate a 4G device and activate a 3G device, the SIM card is dead and cannot be reactivated. You either have to order one online to reactivate or go into a store and they will swap the inactive one for a new one and reactivate your 4G device. This should be free, although I have seen reports of some stores attempting to charge for a replacement SIM.
The good news is swapping between two 4G devices is as simple as removing the SIM from the active device and placing it into the other one, then powering it on.

Some 4G devices like RAZR use Micro SIM, while others, like Bionic use Mini SIM which are not interchangeable.
I stay on Micro, then use this adapter when I need Mini:
