Thing is- I'm already in a Bell contract. I've got very little money, could swing the $349 but not the $499, and to get out of my contract it's $599 (I had an HTC Desire Z, beautiful phone, but I got caught in the worst storm of the summer in the middle of a friggin field, the phone did not do well for the following month.
Dilemma, I don't know if a Virgin phone would work with a Bell SIM card. Bell technician says no, but internet searches give me no definite answer.
Meanwhile, all-in-all, if it comes down to it I'm gonna go for what saves me most money. The other options I have are the iPhone 3GS (brand new) for $250 flat, and jailbroken so I can just put in my SIM, OR tomorrow at Futureshop, the Galaxy 551 goes on sale for $119. Now, I don't know a thing about the 551 except that it seems like a budget Android phone. Not necessarily a bad phone. Does anyone have experience with it? Or has anyone transferred a Bell SIM card into a Virgin device?
Thanks in advance.
You can easily unlock the Galaxy Vibrant yourself. You will have to do some reading first on rooting it and unlocking.
However, my Galaxy S2 from locked from Virgin works with a Bell sim card.
