This appears to be in the same DoCoMo collection as the SH-12C and the SH-13C. I believe this then translates to "unlockable in any DoCoMo shop for a fee of 3100 Yen".

I was wondering if someone can help me figure out the options available to unlock this phone to allow me to use it fully on the Rogers network (Canadian GSM, 850/1900MHz and I believe 2100 for 3G).
I have been told Hypersim may work but apparently there is a specific version I need. To be honest I know a bit about iPhone unlocking because I used to have one but near nothing at all about unlocking android phones and Japanese phones.
Any help is extremely appreciated and even more so if you can link me to a place to get what is needed to unlock this phone.
Thank You!

I bought it in Tokyo but I am in Canada now, I read about that literally the day after I left lol
...so am I screwed until I go back?
Oh, sorry... I might be misleading you. Just used Google Translate to check what the characters below the model name mean exactly (on the DoCoMo site) and this looks like a part of the 2010 Winter / 2011 Spring collection, which means that the above unlocking procedure does not apply.
You'll need to get a hypersim in that case. I don't know why it should be a special model. Just get the cheapest you can find and try it.
And since this is Android, you should have access to the part where you configure APNs for your carrier, so carrier internet will also work (GPRS/2G) - and if you're lucky, you can also get 3G calls/internet to work.
Do you think you could PM me some links of where to buy them? I had tried before ordering from some Chinese sites and after like 2 weeks waiting they emailed me and said they ran out of stock.
Thanks for the information though, I cant wait to get this unlocked because I have been sitting on it for months lol
Ebay.com is quite a safe bet. Pay using PayPal and you'll also get buyer protection in case something goes wrong.
Try searching using "hypersim docomo" or just "docomo" and look in "Cell Phone & PDA Accessories". Easy enough.
Wow I feel stupid now, I forgot completely about ebay.
Thanks a TON cheeseus!
DealExtreme also works if you're willing to wait up to a month for shipping from Hong Kong![]()

I really have no idea why it takes dealextreme so long to get the hypersim to ppl. It only takes 5-10 business days if you goto a post office and drop it off.

I'm literally 2km from their main offices, and packages take up to a week to get here after the status on my order changes to Shipped. Meanwhile, packages from eBay sellers, also from HK, arrive the day after they send it out, two if it's slow.
Probably has something to do with their bulk shipping and thus lower priority?
Alright so I got about 15 SIM unlocking things from DX and other china sellers and so far I can get it to allow me to use my SIM to make calls but none of them work for letting me use 3G or any type of data even after playing around with the settings.
Does anyone know if Docomo can do remote unlocking or something?
I really want to switch to make the Toshiba my main phone because the only thing available in the same range of specs is the Galaxy S2 and it costs like $600...I only paid $200 for the Toshiba lol
Any ideas are welcome, I was thinking maybe root it if that is possible but I wanted to get some opinions on that before hand.
Nothing wrong with your hypersim. you have to change your APN setting![]()
EVERYTHING'S GONE
APN settings, how would I go about changing those?
I tried some things I saw like messing around with the wireless settings but I couldnt figure it out.
I forgot to mention, when the voice calling works, the wireless signal bar shows that it is full but that I am roaming. Even with data roaming checked on it doesnt work.
EDIT: I looked up the APN settings thing, so basically I have a Rogers android phone already, so I should be able to just find the APN settings on that phone and copy them over right?
