Yeah that should work! Make sure to copy the correct apns, as Rogers has one for mobile browsing offered to dumbphones, and one for full browsing for smartphones.
And they will mercilessly charge you extra if you're on one plan and using the other plan's apn.
At least that's how it was over a year ago when I was still living there...

EVERYTHING'S GONE
Seems to be locked and super stubborn, about $15 spent in the app market trying out managers and still no luck. The software keeps resetting the apn data after changing and after a reboot it still remains unchanged. I think I will have to just retire the phone to a desk drawer until I get a chance to go back to Tokyo and see if Docomo can do something about it.
Waiting to go back to Japan won't help you. Docomo absolutely will not unlock it for you. I can tell you this with 100% guarantee since I eat lunch with a few docomo shop managers every week, and they won't even help to unlock pre-April 2011 phones for me. This is also with me bringing them thousands of dollars a business a week. Unless you have some secret hookup that is high up the docomo food chain, they won't help to officially unlock a pre-april 2011 phone.
