Has Net10 released an "unlimited only" phone before. I'm asking because I am wondering if these phones do not have the prepaid menu and could easily be used with another carrier. (I understand that the term "easily" is relative.)

Has Net10 released an "unlimited only" phone before. I'm asking because I am wondering if these phones do not have the prepaid menu and could easily be used with another carrier. (I understand that the term "easily" is relative.)
Recently had someone argue this point with me, saying that AM has clout/power due to their size. My view is much the same as yours. And the providers with networks are not going to allow Tracfone and subsidiaries, unlimited plans with smartphones when it will compromise their offerings and place extra strain on their (already strained) networks. This was backed up recently in an article that I read (? phonenews) stating that Verizon would not allow TF/ST anything but entry level phones with their unlimited plan.
So basically, you can choose the affordability of ST/N10/TF with good coverage and a more basic phone, or affordability with Android and not so great coverage, but never all 3?
They'd sell alot more phones if they could figure out a way to sell just MINUTES and/or DATA on these phones w/o a "smart phone" prepaid plan such as unlimited @ around $50 a month! Even at 300 mins + 2gb data for $15 a month would be nice or 500 minutes & "unlimited" data for $30. I suppose the android phones for trac would be out of the question if they can't even do this for net10.. also net10 needs to do a bill shrinkage plan so that they compete with metropcs & straight talk, since you have options of carriers.. right now all are about the same price or cheaper. There are also android phones for as low as $79 (huwei best 2011 promotion) with metropcs vs $150 for ST,N10,Sprint
When your on the Net10 buy phones page that includes the Androids, look up at the Market Area designation in the URL and you will see it ends in SPR, as in dual market GSM4SPR (AT&T GSM or Sprint CDMA being your choices).
You could not afford to operate an Android with regular pago airtime. You would consume the smaller denomination in nothing flat and run up a monthly bill over $50.
Plans like this would probably work out fine. Since there are apps that you can use to send text to others through data you could leave texting out of the package and just have the customer load the app or preload the app.
I still think some one needs to do this. Just sell a data package and set up all calls through google voice or another voip service. Charge 30 a month for unlimited data only and let them make all their calls and text over the data connection.
Some one is going to do this some day and make loads of money by selling cheap unlimited data packs. Data is all their towers will have to handle.

Well, now its official. The LG Optimus Net and the LG Q are out.
Was at WalMart last night and they were on the racks.
I took pictures of them with the price tags but my phone is charging, so I'll try to get pictures posted later.
But they are out now, at least in Missouri.
They have also been seen in New Hampshire
