I have enjoyed the size of my Palm Pre Plus for the past few months and would like to get a GSM Android phone (with a keyboard) roughly the same size. Any recommenations?

I can't think of any candy bar slider Android devices. Unfortunately for you, most Android phones tend to get larger as well. There are a handful of small all touch screen devices but they are usually underpowered and well have no keyboard.

Hmmm, just found one. The phone is a little thick and I'm not sure if AT&T still sells it, but there is the Motorola Flipout

I remember there is a Motorola that has a Palm Pre form factor but I forgot its name, and its a low end model which I believe is for Sprint/NextTel. It might be something with push to talk too.

If you are in Europe, but obviously you're not, there is this.

The body build is actually nicer than the Pre for its price, but its a low end Android device, and I really should not recommend it.

If you are in Sprint, this phone was just introduced a few days ago and it sounds the closest you are looking for. It comes with a 1.2GHz processor so its not exactly a low end and that should give it some zip.

    See Motorola Admiral

Thank you for your recommendations and help!

I had seen the Alcatel but had not heard anything good about it.

Canada has the Motorola Spice which I was thinking of looking into..but I noticed one of the negative aspects about it was the battery length was poor...

Yes, I know about the Spice but I forgot the name. The Spice is too low end to even bother. The battery they use is actually of small capacity. Its no better than the Alcatel one, which are really crappy low end phones that is only better suited for use as a texting featurephone.

If you like this factor, my recommendation is the Admiral.

I think you're talking about the Motorola Droid Pro. It doesn't slide but it is a candybar phone and it is similar to the Pre Plus. And it is an android. As far as I know it's only available on alltel and verizon
