No, I still can't do it. I continue to get the same message. It's not an area code problem, it's a port problem. I have two other GV numbers in this same area code, but they were new numbers, not ports.

I guess I'll just pay $30 a year to keep my PP number alive. I can always turn on automatic call forwarding to my GV number if I want to.

I don't understand why the porting of phone numbers is so difficult for some of these companies. I have had a variety of porting issues this month myself. Going from cell to non-cell seems generally to be a sticking point although PP has other issues with porting I have learned the hard way. They're not very good at it for reasons that are beyond me.

I ported my number from PP to Virgin Mobile earlier this year. Texts my sister, a PP subscriber, was sending me were going to my PP phone instead of my VM phone after porting to VM. I wound up porting back to PP. I called PP to get it fixed after I ported out, but they took a few days to fix it. My port back to PP was already in progress when they finally got it fixed.

On feb 2 2012 i had a bb 8703e with OS 4.5.0.148 (web not working,MMS working) on Pageplus. I was on a unlimited monthly plan with 100mb ( i believe) and had a few days left before refill. On said date at 932am i ported to Google voice and it was completed by 830am feb 3 2012 before the 24 hr deadline. Im a happy camper. just wanted to share without starting another thread.
