I was going to update to 1.3 until I saw this post.... I would rather to have a working WiFi hotspot than 1.3. This is too bad. I have Joikuspot Premium on my N8, and it seems Joikuspot Premium is not for the N9.

I'm not sure what is causing DrEsox trouble, but I'm on 1.3 and the WiFi hotspot feature works fine on my phone. But as you say it maybe safer to stay on 1.2 knowing the WiFi hotspot works rather than upgrade to 1.3 and find it doesn't work in your case. I'm sure there are improvement in 1.3, but I can't really tell the difference.

I think I might sit out the 1.3.....

Update... WiFi Hotspot is back working and seems to actually run faster now.

Didnt really do anything different. I restarted the device a few times then when I pulled up WiFi Hotspot I was able to connect. The app launches faster and appears to be UL/DL at a faster speed but I dont think PR 1.3 had anything to do with that.

I finally got around to update to 1.3, however, gmail syncing does not work for both the "gmail" and "other email" options. Does any use gmail on the N9?

Hi: Are you using Mail for Exchange or Other on the N9. It sounds like you are using MFE. Thanks,

oh, i guess it's in as 'gmail' but just for google talk, mail is disabled.
It's also listed as mfe with sync enabled for calendar, contacts, mail. 'always up to date' with last 3 days of mail and 2 weeks of events.
Make sure settings -> notifications -> push notifications is enabled too.

Thanks. Setting up gmail through the MFE option works. Just don't understand why can't set up gmail through the "Gmail" option on the N9.

Gmail works good but when setting up need to enter device speciffic password what you assign from google account on your computer - one time event.

Greetings all. I am looking for a phone to replace my N95-4 that I have been using for some years now. Some of the buttons have started to fall off and it's starting to get a little "glitchy" at times. I would rather just keep using it but I know that I will have to replace it sooner or later. I have read through this thread and am interested in the N9. Is this a good replacement for the N95-4? And where would be a good place to purchase it? I usually go to mobilecityonline but they dont have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it's a good replacement for the N95, used is the easiest way to find it. talk.maemo.org has a couple for sale.
