Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4g bad esn

So I buy this phone off ebay and the esn is bad and cannot be activated. I read in another thread that there were services provided by some members that could actually clean the esn on the phone. Any help, appreciated.

Maybe you are thinking of flashing a bad ESN phone to another carrier like MetroPCS, in which case I think that is do-able.

However if you want to use it on Sprint, good luck.. you're better off asking the seller for a refund for selling you a bad phone, and if they refuse, dispute it with ebay and paypal. Ebay/paypal almost always rule in favor of the buyer so you'll have no trouble getting your money back and buying a clean ESN phone.

You are correct, there are services that will clean your esn for you. I have actually had one of my phones 'cleaned' and it worked like a charm. They didn't change the esn, swap the phone out under insurance or anything like that. I had to pay a nominal price and a day or two later I was able to have it activated on Sprint. I stopped selling on ebay too as I was selling an as-is bad esn phone that would work on Metro, and the buyer complained when they got a bad esn phone. I lost the dispute too which seems crazy. So you probably have that option to get a refund which is so wrong.

Did not want to start a new thread so I thought I would throw this out here, maybe some of you Sprint persons may know.
I just picked up a used Shift to use on Ting and I am playing around with it before doing so. One quick question, when I enable the browser(the "Internet" earth icon) it brings up a sign on page to enter your 10 digit PCS# and the url it is accessing is vision.sprintpcs.com. I guess it is set as the home page? Can I edit this to get rid of the sign on page?

Tried: With the browser open, press and then tap
More > Settings > Set home page.
Still opens with the sign on page?

One other thing, under SD and Phone storage it only shows 308MB available, any reason it is so low when it has been reset to factory?

Really? First; this a dead thread and did not believe I was hijacking it in the least. Second; I was appealing directly to some HTC EVO SHIFT Users. Not to mention the response I have received from posting a new thread has been zero from you Sprint Folk.
