Is anyone finding some names coming in with an "@" symbol at the end?
It didn't do this on my iPhone 4 last summer (which is the last time this feature worked for me...)

Is anyone finding some names coming in with an "@" symbol at the end?

No. Mine are working correctly
Mine is working fine no @ at all
Private Msg me for free Blackberry unlock codes include IMEI AND PRD OR MEP
I got my first @ today
Prior to getting iphone 4s had an android phone which most models don't support both name and number display, just number display.
Very frustrating as with Rogers I'm paying for both name and number display. Prior to android had a Blackberry and had both name and number display.
So got the 4s hoping to finally have FULL name and number display. Not so with the 4s, just have name display with @ after it if they're not in my contact list.
Is it too much to ask to have name and number display without having to resort to using a blackberry.
Having just the name come up is worse than just the number as with name only I don't know if they're calling long distance or not and if I pick up I could be charged 40 cents a minute. Called Apple, they're no help, have an appointment at the genius bar.
My Feedback
I put the "Ho" back in "HOFO"
What doesn't make sense?????
Tip of the day......if you are called long distance on your cell phone and you pick up the call, you are charged long distance unless you have a plan that covers incoming long distance which I do not.
Just the name of the caller does me no good. If I can see the number, then judging by the area code and the exchange than I would know if its not in my local calling area and can choose not to be charged extra.
Example:
My number is a Montreal number so my local calling area is Montreal. Unlimited incoming or whatever makes no difference at this point. I am assuming a non-zoned plan.
If I place a call to Montreal while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I place a call to Toronto while I am physically in Montreal it is a long distance call.
If I place a call to Montreal while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I place a call to Toronto while I am physically in Toronto it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Montreal while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Toronto while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Uganda while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Australia while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Poland while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Outer Space while I am physically in Montreal it is a local call.
If I receive a call initiating from Montreal while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Toronto while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Uganda while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Australia while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Poland while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Outer Space while I am physically in Toronto it is a long distance call.
If I receive a call initiating from Montreal while I am physically in the United States it is a long distance call and I pay roaming fees.
When you receive a call it doesn't matter where the call originates. Absolutely no impact on your phone bill. Zero. None. You will not be charged based on where the call originates. Is that clear?
Now, you will be charged long distance depending on where you are physically located. If you are physically not in your local calling area then you will be charged long distance charges. If you have a Montreal number and go to Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax etc. Anywhere in Canada that is not your local calling area. Thats when you incur long distance charges for incoming calls. If you are in your local calling area you will not be charged.
Clear?
Again it does not make any sense...
You can't tell if you will pay a long distance charge just by seeing the number calling you...
Except maybe if you have unlimited network calling with numbers on the same network as you... But with even that, there is no way to be 100% sure that the number calling is the same network as you (ex: I have an old Fido number... But I'm now with Koodo with the same number)
Umm the number of the person calling you make NO difference is whether you are charged long distance. At all.
Two things determine whether you are charged long distance and only one determines whether you are charged long distance for INCOMING calls.
1) For outbound calls, the only thing that determines long distance is whether the number you are calling is outside of your physical current outgoing local calling area. i.e. If you are in Montreal and call a TO number, that is LD.
2) For incoming calls, the only thing that determines whether you will be charged LD is whether you are physically inside or outside of your HOME incoming local calling area. If your home incoming local calling area is Montreal and you are in Toronto, then ALL calls you receive will incur long distance, no matter where the person calling you is calling from or what their number is.
Again, the number of the person calling you is completely irrelevant.
