Called Verizon they said there was an issue with 4g service on Sunday. The problem with the bionic losing data and not switching to 3g is a known issue, they said there should be a fix in November.

My Droid Bionic constantly has no data service. Is this a known issue with the phone or is it just an isolated problem?
I had no data service all weekend even though my friends droid 2 and 4g Mifi having data service. I had to use wifi and connect to the Mifi for data.
Its not like I am in an area without coverage. I can have full bars of service or 1 bar and still have no data service. I'm getting quite annoyed with this problem.

It's not just the Bionic after doing some looking around. Happens on the Charge and Tbolt as well. Must be a VZW issue
Mine has been doing the same thing. Turn the phone on and off and no data. Then it just turns back on. Also has anyone had the problem where the phone just turns off and will not turn back on. You have to pull the battery to get it back on.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using HowardForums
turn airplane mode on then off. will sometimes fix the issue.
battery pull as someone said.
i have 2 bionics and drop data on occasion.
LTE its the network !
Anyone sporting a Razr have this issue?
I'd like to think this mainly due to an area outage... but then again.
Is there a second update that is coming out to resolve this? It appears that my Bionic (running 5.8.893) as of late is having pretty poor reception issues.
Due to the poor battery life of using 4G, I generally leave the phone in CDMA only mode, and it seems that the phone struggles to establish a 3G connection. The overall phone signal also appears to be lower as well since I get 1-2 bars instead of full bars in the same locations that I normally get strong reception.
Pretty sure this is software related as things usually returns to normal after rebooting, but it seems a bit silly to reboot the phone several times a day.
