Mobilicity really needs to fix payment options

I've been with Mobilicity for exactly 1 year now, and when I started with them I was frustrated with the lack of payment options. I've been able to work with it for the most part, but occasionally I can't process a payment online, which leaves me rather screwed unless I want to pay $3.

The $3 for in person payment would be reasonable if it were actually reliable online, but it isn't, and until they can guarantee that online bill payment works 100%, they should offer more options without an extra charge.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

What method are you using that is failing?

I can't think of anything more simple that credit card PAC. Every month, same day, they take $25+13%HST. Never a missed payment, they are happy and I am happy.

Only works for people with a credit card, and given that Mobilicity is prepaid only and therefore targets a demographic that doesn't have credit cards, they need to have things working better.

I've only paid once online and it worked fine. I guess I'll have to wait a year until I can comment.

Though I will say I wish I could pay through my online banking, rather than having to go through Mobilicity's website. I realize it's prepaid, but still.

I pay online using PAC. Before that I used to pay via the mobilicity wap portal (payment.mobilicity.ca from the phone). I have been using it for a year - and I havent had any problems. How were you trying to pay?

Yes, I've used it since the beginning. The first time the problem was that the payment went through but wasn't credited to my account. This time around I couldn't even go through to making the payment.

You're still not supposed to do pre authorised payments with a prepaid credit card.

    ???

That's one of the purposes of payment cards.

With pre-paid cards, the concern is you will rely upon a charge being processed against an unfunded card. As long as you mange your account prudently and ensure it is appropriately funded there are no worries.

You can pay via debit online if you have RBC of Scotiabank. I think there's an option to hook your bank up to mobilicity now.
