Quick question..
I tried getting an MMS to pixi plus on pageplus, and I got nothing.. Once I enabled data, I got the MMS message immediately... Aren't I supposed to get a "you have MMS" type of text notice when I get a MMS, while "Data" is off? I was hoping to get one....

The Palm Pixi Plus must be different than the LG Ally in that regard. If data is turned off on an Ally and a MMS comes in, the message is received with a button to push to download the picture once data is turned back on. I'm not sure why it id different for a PPP.

I think it is a function of the phone OS/MMS program. Both mine and my wife's android phone will show the text portion of an MMS message with a "download" button if we do not have data enabled.
Is there any alternative sms/mms applications for the Palm?
double post.
I wish there was a way to do this too could there be an app that would fix this?
doubtful
its how this specific mobile OS deals with MMS messages when off the cellular data network and with WebOS now being defunct I would expect that its going to stay this way. Yet another drawback of the Palm line
So can I assume that SENDING a MMS with cellular data disabled will also fail ? ?
correct, you can not send an MMS via wifi. It has to be through the normal VZ/PP data connection because of the way it is billed to the account. However you can attach a photo to an email and send it via wifi as a work around.
Yep. You also need to turn off WiFi when you are sending an MMS. I don't know why, but if you have WiFi and Data on, the MMS doesn't work correctly. What I often do, instead of sending an MMS, is just send the pic to the other person's email address, if they can check their email on their phone.
Edit: I see icebook can type a little faster than I can.![]()
So, to be clear, if you try and send a MMS with both WiFi and cellular data off, it's notgonnahappen.com - right ? If there was text along with the pic or vid, would the text go through as a SMS ?
