Samsung Intercept wont stay in silent mode

I recently got my intercept wet, and now it wont stay in silent mode. Everything else seems to be working fine. What it does is, as soon as the screen times out or if I shut the screen off manually by pressing the power button, it will come out of silent mode. Happens every time. I have tried taking the battery out, which was unsuccessful.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Well that's odd. What happens if you use an app like Quick Settings to put it into silent/vibrate mode?

Else your volume rocker might be shot, or some of the circuitry in there. Hope VM feels like it should be replacin'.
