First I had heard it would be the 15th, but then all the leaked screenshots showed the 9th. Maybe it was a ruse to get people to think it was the 9th, when all along they were planing on the 15th?

At least the 15th makes more sense since it's a Thursday and phones seem to be releasing on that day of the week more often than not. The other day getting kicked around is the 17th which is a Saturday.

True, but at least that was delayed to put different chips in it. They weren't sitting in stores with people being told to lock them up until they get the word to sell them from corporate. Either the firmware isn't baked or they want to make sure they have plenty of stock on hand because they are anticipating iPhone levels of sales.

Are there still phones to try out in Manhattan?

I am very anxious to get this phone. I was looking forward to waking up today, going down to my local verizon store and picking me up a nice ice cream sandwich. I guess I will just have to wait another week. No biggie.

As for the phone itself, has anyone here actually held one? I got a chance to play with my friends GSII Skyrocket, which was pretty sweet, and I was wondering if it had the same physical feel (sturdy, but still plastic).

This kind of stutterstep launch is either unintentional, in which case it is just plain poor management, or it's intentional market manipulation. In either case it will result in the sale of more of whatever phones are being hyped: RAZRs. If you release another model, a D4 or a GNex, it competes with...? The RAZR.

It's not unreasonable to deduce that it's jerking us around like this in order to shake more of us loose to drop into the RAZR bin.

I fully understand that and was 95% sure I was going to choose the Razr anyway otherwise I would have held out a little longer.

Is there any real reason to think the 15th is the day except it is the next Thursday? It is mightly quiet for the launch of this phone.

Well I went to one of my local Verizon stores today and what do you know, one of the workers let me play with one for as long as I wanted. The only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that they wouldn't let me take it home with me today! It is AWESOME. It's as good as I've imagined it would be. The 15th can't come soon enough.

WTF? Which store were you at? I broke down and got the Razr and have had nothing but problems. I'll make the trip if I can play with a Nexus. I need to check with the Colonial Heights store.

Duuuuddddeeee, I can't believe you were one of the people that broke down and got the Razor. I played with one, and nothing about it even began to impress me. I didn't want to give the Nexus back to the girl. I almost ran out the store with it. And I walked into the store across from short pump. I wasn't even going to go in, but I thought maybe I'll be that one lucky guy that gets to play with it. Went in, first person that asked me what they could help me with I said I wanted to upgrade my phone, but the one I want keeps gettin delayed by you guys. She said the nexus? I said yea, I know you have them here. Is there anyway I could just play with one? She told me to hold on, went in the back, came back a couple minutes later with one. I felt like a crack addict that had been given a small rock after months of withdraw.

You are a lucky man. I have to take the Razr back tomorrow anyway so I'm going to ask if I can see one. I think I might make them switch me out for free after all of this. I really like the Razr but if the Nexus is awesome I'm going to get it.

I would think you would gain better battery life, a much better screen, and ICS. I don't see how that's not a good idea. The only thing that may be worse is the camera, which I personally had no trouble with.

No kidding. For me it's either the Nexus or the Rezound. No way I'm touching anything Motorola after seeing how my wife and co-workers' are.
