I am just wondering how videotron counts the number of emails sent and recieved?

If I have a 125 "limit" on the number of emails i get per month.
Does the limit still apply if I use wi-fi to sync with gmail, and if I am using the gmail app does it matter if I am using wi-fi or 3G?
