LG Dare;" crmera start error" help

I haven't used my dare in a while. One thing I liked was the camera. I try to use the camera and I get "camera error start". Sounds like a corrupted program. Any body have suggestions on how I could fix this? Software or Firmware flash or something?

i was getting error for cam on mine , i took it apart and the little chip that goes over lens was off lol. and phone was never taken apart befor that
