LG G2x freezing, rebooting, GPS lock problems - is this the rule, or exception?
Looking at picking up a used handset for T-Mobile. The specs on the LG G2x are amazing. And some of the revews are positive. But there are a lot of reports abound of random reboots, freezing, etc. Also problems with the GPS not locking on very quickly or at all. Wifi dropping or not working. Seems like every complaint possible, there seems to be a lot. Yet on the T-Mobile site the phone has 4/5 stars, which seems like a respectable rating.
Is this stuff one should be worried about when thinking about picking up a G2x, or has this stuff been corrected? Of if it's still a widespread issue, can it be corrected by rooting and installing a custom ROM?
Yah doing a custom rom when rooted can fix alot of issues. The rebooting seems to be if yours is one that has that bug and doing a custom rom will onky help that issue so much.
Is it worth it? Totally if your not affected by the reboot issue cuz screen bleed is a small issue and gps can be helped and fixed.
Also screen bleed is an issue but

I didn't do too much research online, but I went out and bought the G2X yesterday, it seemed to be an absolutely amazing phone for the price. When I went to charge it last night, it froze for the first time. It happened many times last night, and once thus far today. When it freezes, it seems to have powered off and there is no way to turn it back on other than removing the battery and putting it back in. If you get this problem, you definitely do not want the phone. I'm hoping I can get a replacement and the issue fixed, because that is really a bother.
Also be careful to note that if your using some kind of notification light app like the one on the market for us... It also causes problems for us. Especially if your on stock kernel.
So that could be reason and not the phone. It happened to me till i noticed without that app i didn't have any lock ups
Alright, I think it might have been a folding@home app I had found. Either way with the replacement I got (since it was still in the original 15 day warranty I could just get a replacement from the store) has been working fine and the phone has been fantastic!
