This happening to any of you lately? My gf's (who's with Rogers) SMS have been arriving 2-3 hours late on my phone for the past week (I'd say 20-30 percent of the time). She thinks I'm ignoring her and am starting to get pissed off with Mobi (she HATES it when people ignore her). It's almost to the point where she's serious about me getting rid of my Mobi line...noticed this happening about a week ago in Vancouver. Just wanted to see if anyone else is getting the same issue.

Not today but a week ago ALL networks were delayed. ALL of them. Rogers to mobi - mobi to telus ... So it might not be the network - it might also be HER network as well! (in other words, switching might not get rid of the problem).
To effectively get rid of the problem - you need to use email or calls.
It's weird since sometimes I'll get 2 or 3 texts at a time despite sending 1 text to someone an hour or so ago with the other a couple minutes before I receive the bulk.
I send many many text to my friends that are on Rogers, Bell, and Telus, and Wind network. I've only had delayed 10% of the time or less out of thousands of text messages I send.

Ah man, if it's that bad you better reconsider and try a different service...or get another GF who isn't that controlling or checking up on you so often. You're eventually going to go nuts or she'll start thinking you're cheating on her, which is a common excuse guys use blaming their provider for not getting messages. On a serious note, it hasn't happened to me and I've told people not to send anymore text messages as most come through late...but on another issue people keep telling me that when they call me my line is out of service and it's always from a Rogers land-line.
I've noticed this only because I have that Android option to get a receipt of read messages.
Lately I've not gotten that receipt, and my messages have been delayed. Also like another person in this thread, my messages arrive two or three at a time.
Something I've been testing that seems to fix this is sending a message to your own phone number afterwards. I remember reading about another user who posted that works for them from a year ago when this was last a problem.
Well this issue was around before but has crept up again about a week ago. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue lately.
Like icemasta, I'd sometimes receive multiple messages at the same time. It sucks because usually the Panache will tell me the time of when the message was sent, not received. However, it seems like the SMS gets stuck on the Mobi server and doesn't reach me till 2-3 hours later, so it is showing the delayed time rather than when she sends her text. This makes it hard for me to know when her texts are delayed until she asks whether I've been receiving her texts.
I guess my gf was half joking and half serious, but I can understand her frustration. Calling doesn't always work when I'm in class and email seems like an odd method when u want a short and quick reply.
ECBomb if she wants you to switch to a big 3, you probably should make her happy. If you ate about to get married... this is the start. Buy a bigger wallet for easy accessibility: D

May I ask which app? Didn't think this was possible unless it's some web based sms server that requires the receiver to have a data plan (which you can't be sure of).
And ECBomb. Having the excuse that the text was late.....priceless....

Why not set up a SPECIAL SYSTEM just for PRINCESS and make her feel special without a divorce, you can get a free number at freephone.ca and then in settings send all missed calls to Gmail as Voice Mail and add a Notifier to your phone if you don't have one yet...give her that number and you won't miss anymore calls unless a lot of people call. We tried it on my friend's phone and it stopped his nagging wife from whining. Plus women don't joke and attend to it right away before reception is the last of your worries.

I have a better idea. Call her - LOTS of times! :-)
This has been happening to me very, very often lately. Almost every day, as a matter of fact. The texts that I would receive would be delayed by half an hour, to an hour at the latest.
Last week, it was terrible. Almost every message I'd receive would be delayed, or in batches.
