Cosmos Touch 2 / LG Extravert

Saw this on a peg at Wal Mart in Derry, NH today. Anyone else heard about this? No phones on the peg, though.

Same thing at my local store. There is a peg with a price of $99.88, but no stock.

I think I have it--on layaway that is. I saw a phone with a slider keyboard and it looks to be a touch screen and on the box it says LG Extravert and something about the 50. plan and it was 99.88. I can't find anything about that name on yahoo search though or on the verizon website?? I am trying to find out some info on it too. Later...I called verizon and had to ask for a supervisor and found out the phone does exist--new for prepaid but it was not supposed to be displayed until Nov 6. It is touch screen with 3 home screens, 2mp camera, 2.8" screen, qwerty slide keyboard and it is for the 50. plan---no data plan required. Basically it is almost the same as the cosmos touch but for the 50. plan. It looks to be a nice phone. Hopefully people will come out with covers for it.

Apparently the original Cosmos Touch can be used with daily/paygo but not Unleashed $50 everything. Saddled with slower 1xrtt data and a non Html wap browser, it probably would make a less then perfect web/data experience. Idk specs on CT 2. If they are starting to allow Touchscreens it makes sense even if crippled with wap browsers/1x. Even Tracfone has them now. If they do, everyone should . Oh, except Virgin Mobile Paylo...lol

The phone will indeed be called the Extrovert. Found it at Target in Amherst, MA, but did not buy it as Target wanted $120 for the phone.

I would have bought this phone today at Wal-Mart but the back cover is red. I thought the phone would be all black.

I bought this phone today and I was surprised to learn that it has Opera Mini 5.1 preinstalled.

All Verizon feature phones will have Opera Mini by the end of the year according to Verizon.

I believe the red thing is a plastic tray holding the phone--most of their pkg phones have this. I think it is all black. I was looking at one pkg in Wm and I didn't get the impression the back was red--and I love red.
My bad---it is red---I just saw one for sale somewhere on craigslist and it was out of the pkg and it is red on the bottom rim for sure---I will be taking a better look at this.

The back battery cover is not red. When you slide the phone open, the back portion of the phone that the screen and the 'regular' keypad is on is indeed red. Do not have the phone on me so I cannot post a pic of it.

I can't tell from the responses here. Is this a Verizon prepaid-eligible phone? It's not showing on their website.

Yes, it's sold specifically for Prepaid and qualifies for any plan including the $50 unlimited. It seems to be found only at Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and possibly other retail stores. The prepaid phone selection at vzw.com is limited and tends to be overpriced compared to the box stores.

It's in my market now for $95 local Walmart. It is their FIRST TOUCHSCREEN for the $50 unlimited talk/text/web plan BUT they keep the speed levels down to 1xrtt. However , because it is preloaded with Opera Mini, it should be tolerable.

There will be a lot of these sold because of the touchscreen/html browser aspects but you can bet a lot of people with ***** about the 1xrtt. It's Verizon, it's a touchscreen, it has full html , it's unlimited everything for $50 a month. Deal.
