Plus online they charge the 35. activation fee. Has anyone seen this phone at BB yet?

I think I'd scream in frustration with a touchscreen...but the size is attractive. If you don't get this through Verizon - what do you do....buy it and take to a Verizon store and ask them to activate it? (Other than ST, I've never bought a phone outside a Verizon store - so this is all new to me.)

You can activate it yourself. Buy the phone, turn it on, it'll prompt you to call it in yourself. To use an existing line, you'll need to enter your phone number and the PIN code (last 4 of the phone number unless you changed it, which is highly recommended). Your old phone will become inactive, you can sell it or keep it for a spare and switch back and forth as often as you like. Verizon has a very easy automated phone-changing system which you can access anywhere in Verizon coverage (not roaming) by calling "*22898" on the phone that you want to make active.

This phone has a slide out keyboard like the Cosmos and Intensity series, as well as a touch screen.

Shoot I didn't even realize there WAS a pin code......so I guess it should be the same then. Okay...good to know. I still have my ST phone (love the service but hate the phone), and my Chocolate 3 on my Verizon plan...and I still have not come to a final decision about which carrier. I can't stay with Verizon Postpaid as I just can't keep getting the overage hits - it's insane. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go prepaid...just not sure who yet. I like PagePlus 1200 T&T - I thought that was the ticket until I read about the roaming - I guess that's the advantage of ST - no roaming...period. Oh well...I'm still figuring it out...but these forums are a huge help!

Here's a pic of the Extrovert next to the LG Dare. May take me another day or two to give some impressions. I've been on the road too much since Irene came through Brattleboro, VT and my mother had to be evacuted. She has not been able to return home since, so my prorities have changed for now.

The new Extravert touch slider prepaid phone is now showing on the Verizon website under the 50. all in plan. It is a little bit higher than at Walmart---109.99.

My phone broke early this summer and I needed something in a hurry. Went to Radio Shack and all they had were cheap screen phones, LG something I can't remember. I smashed it 4 days later.

If you get screen phone you have to be prepared to spend to get a decent one and try it out 1st.

Interested to hear what everyone is thinking of the phone. Any indication this will come to post-paid anytime soon?

After I saw the pics of the phone on verizon prepaid on the website, I have decided it looks really nice and it comes with opera browser so maybe it will be a good phone. I am going to try out the free 10 min to see how it does before I waste money on a 50. card. This weekend I hope.

I was getting tired of my Blitz discharging every time it was put down the wrong way, so I picked up the Extravert at Staples this weekend.

Getting the account switched over was trivial. Backup Assistant, on the other hand, didn't get all the fields off the Blitz (e.g. Mobile 2 didn't copy). Fortunately, there wasn't that much to fix by hand.

I expected the wide keyboard to be easier than the Blitz, but it's going to take some time to get used to it. For some things, typing on the screen seems faster, but I haven't figured out how to make T9 stay on as the default. Neither one feels as easy as typing on my iPod Touch. As near as I can tell, it doesn't have the writing option that the Cosmos Touch has.

My biggest frustration was hunting for the microSD slot, confirming that the online specs said it had one, confirming that the box was silent on the subject, going crazy trying to get the USB working without a card in order to get my pics and ringtones copied over, and then giving up. Finally, out of desperation, I took the battery cover off and discovered that the microSD slot was right there - it's just concealed, with no external slot, so there's no way to insert or remove the card without taking off the battery cover. But once the card was in, I got the USB working, and can now transfer stuff back and forth. It's not as simple as I'd like - it seems I still have to activate the USB connection on the phone, but it works.

Many of the features are a big step up from the Blitz, but it remains to be seen whether I'll find it as usable.

    Recently Purchased

I recently purchased this phone, the Extravert, and I'm as impressed as I would be for a $100 phone. It has a fairly sized 2.8" screen. Seems snappy and quick. It does have a resistive screen so you gotta get used to apply a little pressure while using screen. Colors are bright and clear. Keyboard has nice feedback. Gotta get used to the weirld layout though. If it would have been a 5 row qwerty, it would have been perfect.

It does use Opera mini as it's default browser, although it it Verizon branded. I tried to download Opera from the website and it said download lock or restricted so I have a feeling Verizon restricted downloads from it.

It does have threaed SMS inbox. Also In the Communication Screen it combines Facebook/Twitter/Myspace and SMS all in one threaded screen for ease of view or activity.

It has a 2MP camera. As expected the quality is normal for a 2MP. Does have Video recorder at a low quality rate.

I would have expected it to come with at least a 2GB SD card but it didn't. You will have to supply you own.

I have it running on the free $10 airtime with the $1.99 a day unlimited talk, with .2 cent text and .99 a day data for 24 hours. It does have voice command.

It also does play youtube videos. I played 2 with no stutter, although they aren't high quality. Speaker on back is very loud and seems to be clear. I havent tested out Music player as I don't have a SD card in it at the moment. Any questions, Please feel free to ask. This is a quick over view. Not very detailed.
