Anyone know who currently has the best price on this? Thinking of getting it for my kids. VZ site has it for $109.
Leave it to Vz to castrate Opera mini.
You can't save anything from this phone. The only thing I have found that you can use is ringtones and wallpapers. But you have to transfer them to the miroSD via computer or such. But you have to format the memory card using the format option in the phone because the phone only looks in it's folders it creates on the memory card. Example, The phone wont scan the memory card and all photos show up in my photos. It will only show photos listed in the My Photo folder it created on the SD card. It creates a Ringtones folder when it formats it, all you have to do is drag and drop ringtones from your computer to the folder via usb cable or bluetooth.
1xrtt data, crippled proprietary Verizon version of Opera and difficulty doing what would be simple tasks on more open standard feature phones . Verizon prepaid's first $50 unlimited plan touchscreen has a price (besides the $89 they were charging at the local Best Buy.)
I'm sure it will be a sales hit just because it is a touchscreen and the $50 unleashed plan though...
Page Plus is counterattacking with a cut in their Unlimited talk/text/20 megs data down to 39.95 , the original price. Near unlimited cdma byod make it a good alternate for low/no data users on feature phones. Their $55 unlimited talk/text/500 meg plan is better for smartphones.
I was in BestBuy tonight and I saw a Motorola Citrus in an Unleashed package it was $149.00. I was in a hurry buying stuff so I didn't get a chance to ask about it but I'm headed back tomorrow a little earlier.
Are you sure? If so, this would be a coup. Androids (even lowend ones) on unlimited everything Verizon $50 plan. Real or wishful thinking? Inquiring minds want to know...
I just visited a Best Buy in Nashville, TN. The store had two Moto Citrus on pegs with a 50 unleashed display. However, the packaging for both Citrus had the standard Verizon prepaid rates , with no mention of the 50 dollar plan. I would be careful. Do not see Verizon "unleashing" any smart phones.
You're probably right I was in a real hurry.
I didn't make it there today but I'll head there after work tomorrow.
I did not ask a sales clerk if the Citrus was on the 50 Unleashed plan. Given that the two Citrus had regular Verizon prepaid rate information on the inside cover and no mention of the 50 dollar plan, I assumed it was a no go. It would be great if Verizon did allow low end smart phones on this plan. However, I do not think it will happen in my lifetime.
I am on America's Largest and Most Reliable Wireless Network..
Thank you Page Plus.
Verizon prepaid and Androids at $50 unlimited? Nah. Even though the Citrus is a jr. droid w / the lesser evdo 0 standard, it's still probably meant for the more expensive smartphone monthly plans. I await OTG's confirm though.
We still have Page Plus as a strong alternate even w/o unlimited data.
Maybe, if it's true @ the Citrus on the $50 plan, VZW might be getting ready to introduce 4G smartphones on the current prepaid smartphone options and allow the 3G only smartphones on the basic prepaid plans including the $50 Unlimited.
That would be a giant prepaid service development for Big Red.
