Cosmos Touch 2 / LG Extravert

Verizon prepaid just got their first touchscreen. Though it's a feature phone with 1xrtt, I highly doubt that they will move much faster then that. The Citrus has been on Vz pp for a while. LTE is still in its relative infancy.

We'll see if the Citrus and other lower end smartphones will be allowed on this plan. I highly doubt it but nothing's been confirmed 100 percent one way or the other.

We'll see.

I did my own little investigation, this should be taken with a grain of salt. I was at BB today and saw that they had the Citrus with the $50 plan sticker on top of the box. This box also only displayed the standard rates, however, all the other phones (even ones I know for sure can be activated on the 50 plan) only displayed the standard rates too (old boxes?). So the BB mobile manager was there, so I talked to him about if the Moto Citrus can actually be activated on the $50 unlimited plan. He told me that yes the phone can be activated on the plan and Verizon just started allowing only this phone on the plan to "sell off unused stock because it's being discontinued." I think we need to get confirmation from Verizon themselves. I'm still highly skeptical myself. Also, BB employees can be wrong sometimes.

Called Verizon prepaid CS twice. Both times they dug a little deeper and both times the answer was "no , the Citrus cannot be used on Unleashed. It has to be used on the monthly smartphone plans as it is an Android".

Oh well , we can play with the Extravert for now or put a Citrus on Page Plus...lol It's only Evdo 0 after all...

As I thought! Well I'm off to buy the extravert, because as sad as this might be, that's the best phone verizon has for this plan. It's at least better than my LG Cosmos 2 (which in my opinion is a POS).

is it just me or is this phone hard to come by? I have gone to RadioShack, BestBuy, Target, Staples, OfficeMax/Depot, and Walmart in my area, they all do not carry this phone. I would order it from Verizon themselves, but it would come pre-activated (I want to upgrade my current phone) and there would be the activation charge too which makes the phone $35 more expensive.

I have a suggestion. In my state, Target comes in three flavors -- Target, Super Target, and Target Greatland which is halfway in size/selection between a Target and a Super Target. Over here, the standard Target stores generally have a Verizon phone selection that is not as extensive as that at the Super Targets and Target Greatland.

Well, I purchased one of these today. It's still porting my Net10 number over, so can't use any of the data features or anything. But it's a very decent phone for the price (got mine for $99 at Walmart, plus had a $20 gift card so got it for $79...that's a steal!) It's my first Touch Screen phone. I'm very happy so far (only been a few hours though, lol) It definitely has more stuff than my Net10 Samsung T404g.

Yes, I don't know why they are calling it Cosmos 2 cause that is a different phone. It is the Extravert--I saw the pkg at the store.

In that RadioShack link, RadioShack is not calling it a "Cosmos 2".
They're calling it a "Cosmos Touch 2"

Yep, they were all on sale. I picked up the ZTE Salute. $40 original price - $25 instant discount = $15. They then gave me a $10 RS gift card basically making it a $5 phone. Of course I used the gift card to buy a Net10 Samsung R355C online, so I got 2 phones for $15.

Saw the Extravert on sale at Radioshack at $99! I got mine at Walmart for 99 as well, plus I had an 20 dollar gift card so I got it for 79. STEAL! I really like this phone. It plays Youtube and surfs the web nicely. The only issue so far I see is when you send a picture, it sends it really tiny. I can't find anything to make the picture that I'm sending bigger. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure, as I had the same problem, its set in the phone to resize the photos to save data or just your annoying prepaid consequences. It was a major flaw for me and I went to GoPhone instead. Verizon's phones are tooo crippled for my taste. Its very petty. My infuse 4G I use with my gophone sim sends 8mp photos and manages to resize them for mms standards ans they still come out crisp and clear. Why Verizon degrades the size and quality so bad, I have no idea. Verizon post paid phones don't so it. I'm thinking since the extravert is sold only has a unleashed phone, its programmed to do it so skimp on as much data as possible, same as they don't allow 3G phones on the $50 plan or smart phones. Only the ones they say are OK.
