Hi-
I just got this VX9200 from a friend who got a newer phone...I had it working fine...but tried to enable the WAP for Page Plus and took a wrong turn obviousely. I changed a few settings in the Programming menu and everything was still fine but kept going with a change here/there because the browswer still didn't go to a web page. I was in the WAP settings, selection 5, of the Programming menu. I have tried several things I've found on the web but still can't stop the starting Verizon logo looping.
I'm hoping there is some way to do a factort reset or something because as soon as I plug in the usb cable or power it up alone, the Verizon logo tries to start, tries to start, tries to start...just loops here. Is this hopelessely bricked??? I paid $10 for it and it's a waste if I have to take it to a Verizon store and pay $100 to get this thing to work again.
Wow...that was a few months ago....sorry but I don't actually remember exactly what I did to get rid of it. I just remember that I kept messing with that one file that you upload to the phone...I was changing the numbers...
30 or 31....I remember what the posts said about what was supposed to be there in the file weren't the numbers I had and so I couldn't change what I didn't have......It was totally frustrating and started looking up PagePlus (what I use) dealers in the area to pay them to do it but then it started working after I gave it my last shots. I remember thinking that I bricked it but after a BitPim upload it started working.
Now that I reread the above I'm thinking that this relates to trying to get the Verizon browser to work on PagePlus and the issues I had with that.....sorry but it's all kinda foggy since when I'm trying to fix things I try numerous ideas quickly and never quite sure what really works because of the variables.
Also I remember trying to do a factory reset getting into the programing side of the phone.....
Sorry I'm not much help because I know how frustrating that was for me till it worked.
Now I just reread my original post.....Using BitPim I got it fixed.....I kept uploading different versions of the one file that I saved while playing with the phone (forget its name)...but that did it.
Yes I had that same problem too....I couldn't get BitPim to work because of the continuous looping of the startup logo. What happened then was it just connected one time to BitPim...and I do remember that I didn't know why the looping stopped. Great help I know. I was at the end of my rope in frustration and then it just connected to BitPim for some reason. Maybe I removed the battery for awhile, I tried pressing the buttons to get into the programming mode, I closed and opened BitPim, I reconnected the cable from the phone to the computer, I took the SD card out/in....as stated above...I don't know why the looping stopped and why it connected to BitPim one time....but I tried for about 1/2 day doing things that didn't seem to help..like a rat going down the same useless tube....and then it stopped for some reason. Then, after the looping stopped, I still had a heck of a time getting the web browser to work. I ended up not using Verizon at all but some freebie server...it still works. Hope you get the looping to stop.
