Well here's today's battery usage for this phone.

This is with light/moderate use early in the day.. and Very heavy use at the end here.

You see where it shows a huge drop off? My phone "seems" like it restarted, what i mean with that is. I was listening to TuneIn Radio and about to send a text message, when SwiftKey X keyboard froze a bit.. my phone went black, I heard the Samsung "Of/On" Noise, then it came back on.

Weird thing? If I check phone status, and uptime.. It still says 160hrs uptime.
This has happened to me twice in the past 4 days. I should probably reboot lol

Wow. IMO, that's the best review of the phone I've read online so far, amateur or pro. Some of those things I'd noticed and read, but that adjusted my view by putting them in context. Thanks, skiltrip.

Finally I got on hold of the Exhibit II.....Well I've currently have 4 other Exhibit I in my home....So I want just to add my comments I versus II. Many things are similar....But the II has a bigger screen size. Makes it easy for me type without missing the letter that much. While using the one I was always regretting the iphone precission in portrait typing. The I has the hepactic and auto display adjust feature. Not sure why they left it aside in version II. Version I has back cover with a smooth touch feeling....hate the one on II. The processor changed according to one person the newer version processor is inferior to the one in version I.
Screen...I put both two side to side and the screen colors are are more vivid on version I than version II.
Spec wise the Version I is rated 21 mbps the II is rated 14 mbps. But in real life speed I'm not sure that will make a difference. But the II has ATT 3G same as the SGS4G (not advertised). The version I does not.
So even though I feel like yes version II is a regression from version I, I sold my version I and will keep the version II. Just because of the last specs...3G ATT bands. Unfortunetely we're still waiting on the way to unlock without paying extra $. The version I, I've unlocked all without issue. I will run quadrant on both and post the results.

Well, a bit of bad news for Exhibit II owners -- the GPS does appear to be a little wonky. It's nowhere near as bad as the Triumph, but today I was going along merrily in navigation, when it said "lost GPS signal". I disabled GPS, re-enabled, waited, no dice.

I thought, OK, we'll see how well it does with just cell towers then... even though I'm in the middle of a city, with clear view of the sky, and the weather is nice, maybe there's something blocking. Fine.

Well, pretty soon it said "lost data signal", and then about 20 seconds later the phone rebooted on its own. I thought that was pretty strange.

A bit later, when opening the camera app, a full-screen "green" window showed instead of the camera, then full screen "black" or dark gray, then after about 30 seconds the camera came up. So I don't know what the heck it was doing that time.

Will experiment more with it as I can, but starting to wonder. Hope this isn't a pattern.

Ive had mine for 2 weeks or so now. Its going back to WalMart today. Reception is one of the worst (typical Samsung). GPS dose not know where i am at. The screen is not responsive. Software is slow. Battery life is ok for a Android. This is my second one i swapped out for. I have almost fully gave up on Samsung and their products. Almost tired of Android. Where is some WP7 goodness at? lol

The best phone that i have owned with Tmobile so far is the G2x, and i sold that to buy the Exhibit 2.

I returned my Exhibit II other day as well, and got a G2x on Friday. That thing is a beast of a phone...I cannot say enough good things about it. I consider it an upgrade from my iPhone. VERY happy with it, can't put it down. $200 is a lot to spend on a phone, so I don't know why anybody would want to spend that much on the Exhibit II, something so middle of the line, when the G2x can be had for about $100 more or maybe even the same price if you find a deal.

Mine is going back too. I bought one and tested the signal at my house last weekend. Bars indicated adequate signal. The meter would jump from edge to 4g, zero bars to 3. Never got a no service indicator. I returned that one, bought a new one and spent two days porting my virgin mobile number over to the new E2. Now that I am using it the signal is so bad that sometimes text messages will fail when I try to send. Too bad because I liked phone. It is a little laggy much of the time as well.

I guess no phone is perfect. Some people love their Triumphs and some don't.
I love my Exhibit 2 and you guys have problems. It is life I guess. Good with the bad and all.
My E24G has got to be the nicest phone I have owned.
I did discover this about it. On most of my other phones I need to run Android Assistant to free up resources so the phone runs better.
With this phone, it seems to run better without AA.

Your problems are more service related. I have to lock my GS2 on EDGE when I'm in a fringe area or it will go back and forth exactly like you said. T-Mobile's HSPA+ coverage is not perfect but if it works for you, it's great. Just like any carrier. I get a -90db signal at home and can pull 9mb down. VM/Sprint also happens to work really well in my area too, on 3G anyway. WiMAX is horrendous just about everywhere.

Anyway, I returned my Exhibit II too. I actually really liked it but the insensitivity around the space bar area while typing was a deal breaker for me. I'll probably try and snag a SK4G or G2x instead. I just need a backup Android..

Yes...by default, under the Pay As You Go *plan*, if you don't choose a different one instead. So apparently that is the plan you were trying to activate. It's just that you, as a newbie, understandably didn't realize this is in fact a plan, or that by not choosing any other plan, you were in fact choosing the PAYG plan.

Anyhow, this is again mostly off-topic, but not entirely, as Yomuppet brought up a very good point - activating under any plan other than the special $30 unlimited data plan will likely preclude you from then switching to that plan, since it is for new activations only. Not sure if they make an exception for the temporary activation under the PAYG that would be the default if you did not choose a different plan immediately on activation, though. Someone who has gone through this might want to clarify - can you in fact activate under the default PAYG plan, and then switch to the special Walmart plan when your $3 balance expires? Or do you have to take care to specify that you want the Walmart plan when you activate, and thus you cannot use your $3 activation card balance to test the phone first under the PAYG plan? As Yomuppet suggests, you could always just buy another activation kit, so no huge problem if that is the case. I wonder, though, does the $3 balance on the activation card apply toward the $30 for the first month in that case?

    Data not working

I got my Exhibit II on Saturday morning...

I used it on and off during the day on Cellular data and on WIFI with no problems...

Then on Sunday morning it was working fine on WIFI....However, when I left my apartment I could no longer get and Cellular base data...It can send and receive phone calls and text messages fine...But whenever I try to use an App that requires data it says there is no data connection...

I don't know if I turned off a setting that disabled Cellular based data...I have looked through the device settings and can't find anything...

    Any suggestions

BTW - I am on the $30 unlimited data plan...

    Thanks,

    clb239

First toggle on and off "Airplane" mode on your phone, see if that helps you grab a network.

Then try going to your Mobile Network settings (Menu -> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile Network)
make sure "Use Packet data" is checked, and Data Roaming unchecked.
