My real point was that T-Mobile prepaid will never charge you extra for domestic data roaming, if in fact any exists.
I have had data while roaming across Kansas. However, those same areas now show as having either native coverage or no coverage, so I am no longer able to test that. I also believe I had my APN set to voicestream rather than to the default, and that may have helped.

My phone is going incredibly sluggish. Sometime I only have 33mb of ram free.

I have now been using this phone since Monday, and in general I quite like it.

I've been a smartphone hold-out, actually quite anti-smartphone, for a long time, but This one seems to work the best out of those I have tried.

One thing I have noticed a few times though, is what appears to be a bug with the in-call volume control. Often, when I answer a call, the volume seems to set itself at the 50% level, regardless of where it was on the previous call. This level is too low, so I use the volume rocker + button to try and turn it up, but it does nothing. I found out that if I hit the - button, it will then jump up to 100% (which is too loud). After hitting the - button with the jump up, the volume control then starts working normally.

It doesn't do this all the time, and it has happened both over Wifi and via the normal GSM radio.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, any fixes?

    Thanks!

Sounds like a bug to me. Do you have the latest firmware?

    Beats me.

I don't have my Exhibit II yet, In the hands of FedEx SmartPost for the last week.

Somewhere in the phone menu will be a setup > software? field with version #. Then go to Samsung's website and look up the E2 and see the latest version. As always YMMV.

I looked on their sure and can't find anything other than the Android version number, which matches what my device says.

The only other thing I see in the phone's about screen is a kernel version number.

There hasn't been any updates for the Exhibit 2 so I'd just say you have noticed a bug. Do you have any apps installed that could be interfering with volume?

I don't think so, but I don't really know.there are a lot of apps that request permission for the phone do they can stop if there is an incoming call. If it is related to that, it could be any of them.

Could the power saving mode feature interfere with the volume? i've been using that.

Has anyone tried to unlock this phone by requesting a free unlock code from T-Mobile? Do I have to be a customer of T-Mobile (activated phone) to do it? I'm getting this phone from Amazon to Canada and I do not need T-Mobile service. I just want to unlock it to use with a different carrier....

You must be a T-Mobile customer if you want them to unlock it, or you'll have to pay full retail ($329 for the Exhibit II) and fax them the receipt. Have you checked eBay for an unlock code?

My Samsung Galaxy S II has a bug with the volume too. It constantly defaults to max volume. Irritating but not a deal breaker on an otherwise really nice phone.

    Question Infrared Output?

Would the Exhibit II have an infrared output LED? Curious if it could act as a remote control. I'm sure the App exist if the LED exists.

If I bought my phone from Amazon for $199 would I qualify for a free unlock code? Can I be a T-mobile customer if I'm a Canadian resident?

    Can anyone tell me?
why is it that when I use the keyboard (Exhibit II 4G) to reply to an email (yahoomail) and I make a mistake and try to correct it by using the back space key, the word I'm trying to correct/erase gets duplicated instead of disappearing?
Also is anyone having an issue with text messages that fail to be sent? and how do you re-send them without having to retype them?
