There are ways to increase Android font size but I think you might have to be rooted. That can be an option though. Or you can change the screen density.

My daughter has an Exhibit on T-Mobile $30 100-min-talk/unl-text/5GB-hispeed-data plan, and is happy with it.

I was thinking of getting one for my wife, and moving her SIM card from our T-Mobile Gold Status pre-paid accounts (I tried this, using my daughter's phone and my SIM and it seems to work fine). I would switch in/out to/from the pay-by-the-day plan on the occasional days we would need data outside of wi-fi, or extended talk/texts.

My Question: My daughter thinks the screen/text is too small for my wife. Are there better options for a +50 year-old? Or maybe a setting/app on the Exhibit to provide a screen better suited to someone w/o 20-something vision?

There is an app called Big Font in the market, I used it on my Exhibit (not rooted) and its very helpful to increase font size on the entire phone.

There is also Fontomizer SP in the market which has some BOLD fonts to increase and change the default font of the phone. I use BiminiArabicPlus Bold TTF and am very happy with it.

My wife is 50 and just got the Exhibit II (now the Galaxy Exhibit) a few months ago, and hasn't complained yet.

Thanks, I found Big Font after posting and asked my daughter to try it on her phone. She thought it would help a lot. I'll also try Fontomizer SP.

Well, it's more of an eyesight issue, which can affect any age but it more prevalent among us +50 years old. I need to get my prescription updated for reading, I found it tough to read all the fine text when I was setting up and experimenting with my daughter's phone.
